Petal had been picked up by Dirty. She watched her friend stumble to her home. Before she went inside, Petal threw her arm up in a wave and Rosalie chuckled, waving back. The door closed, and Dirty turned, bowed, and then climbed on his bike.

“See, have a little trust.”

She held onto Colt’s body as he took off. The bike still terrified her, but she held onto him tightly, not wanting to let go.

And you also like holding him.

Rosalie pressed her face against his back and tried not to think about how much she liked holding onto him. She didn’t have a crush or any feelings for Colt.

He’s your husband.

It didn’t matter. They were still two strangers and tomorrow they’d be at a honeymoon island. Kim had arranged everything. All she had to do was arrive, or go with Colt.

Colt didn’t go any faster than thirty. He was slowly getting her used to the bike, and it wasn’t as bad as she first thought. Each time she climbed on the back, she couldn’t help but be afraid she was going to die.

Arriving at his home, Rosalie climbed off the back of the bike. Her knees felt a little week, but she’d sunk to the ground and thanked it for being there.

Colt had the keys this time, and he let them both in.

Rosalie stepped over the threshold and spun around. “What was going on tonight?”

“You’re not even going to give yourself time to wash away the club?” he asked.

“I don’t need time. I have a feeling if you’d wanted a true send-off party, you’d have done it at the Satan’s Death Riders MC. You hate my father, none of this makes any sense, unless you and your guys are up to something.”

She stared at him waiting. Colt didn’t say a word.

“You know, I can’t help if you don’t tell me what it is you’re looking for.”

She saw his jaw clench.

“And you don’t trust me.” She threw her hands up in the air. “Why am I not surprised? You expect me to trust you and I have. I’m here, aren’t I? I’ve put my faith and trust in you and your club, but you can’t even trust me, not even a little bit.” She didn’t know why it surprised her, or even why she was so upset. It made no sense to her. None. She turned on the staircase, prepared to make her way upstairs, when his voice stopped her.

“Your father is up to something. We don’t know what for sure, but we do know he uses you to get what he wants. He manipulates you and as you know, he wants you to feed him information about the club.”

Rosalie stopped and looked back at Colt.

“As I said, Daemon’s up to something. We don’t know what. Earlier in the week he had a shipment of something. Look, I can’t tell you everything related to the club, but this treaty was meant to help us.”

“Has it?”

“On the surface, yes. We’re no longer fighting, but the truth is, we don’t trust them, and they don’t trust us. I don’t know if they found anything tonight. This honeymoon send-off was the distraction. I was with you the whole time, and I’ve got no way of knowing what they’ve found.”

“Do you want to know?” she asked.

“Of course.”

“Are we going on a honeymoon or is that a ruse?”

“We’re going on a honeymoon tomorrow. We’re all set.”

“And Petal?”

“She’s going to be with our moms. None of that is fake.”

Rosalie stopped and nodded her head. “That makes sense. He’d be suspicious if we didn’t go anywhere.”

“I don’t know what Daemon has planned yet, but when I do, I’m hoping to stop him.”

This intrigued her. She folded her arms beneath her breasts and waited. “How?”

“I’m going to kill him, Rosalie. I want your father dead. I want the Evil Fuckers MC gone and vanished.”

Rosalie ran fingers through her hair and looked past his shoulder. “And if the whole club isn’t bad?”

“I don’t give a shit. You’re going to need to make peace that your father is on my list. I will kill him.”

She looked at him and thought about it. “Do you promise?”

“What?”

“That you will kill him. That he’ll be dead, six feet under?”

“You want that?”

Rosalie frowned at him. “Yeah, I do. I want that son of a bitch dead. I want him gone and I’m willing to do whatever you need to help you achieve that.”

“Why?”

“I hate him. I’ve hated him for a lifetime. I’ve begged and pleaded for him to stay out of our lives, but he always comes back. My mom knows no peace. She only knows pain and suffering from him. He has to go and if I can do this for her, then I will.” Rosalie stepped down until she was toe to toe with him. “I’ll help you any way I can. Your only promise to me is that when the time comes, you pull the trigger and you send him to hell.”
