She was so thankful Colt had come. His arms felt so safe and warm.

“Exactly,” Bug said.

“I never knew I had a brother,” Rosalie said. “It’s nice to meet you.”

Bug gave a little bow. “Nice to meet you as well, Rosalie.”

There was a tone to his voice that made her feel he wasn’t happy.

Bug passed them and made his way toward the clubhouse.

“I don’t think he’s happy with you,” Rosalie said.

“How are you doing?” Colt asked.

“Fine. So far. How’s Petal?”

“Looking for you, but I told her I’d come and get you.”

“I want to go home.”

“Soon,” he said. “I promise.”

She nodded. “I can handle this.” She took a deep breath and blew it out.

“Don’t leave my side, okay. We’re about to go and talk with your dad.”

Rosalie paused. “What?”

“Did you know you say that a lot?”

“Why are we talking to my dad?” she asked.

“Don’t panic. We’re just, we’re…” Colt stopped and looked at her. She didn’t avert her gaze, but kept focused on him. “We need to talk to him.”

Rosalie looked back toward the clubhouse and tilted her head. “Okay.”

They stepped back into the Evil Fuckers MC clubhouse and Colt placed his arm around her waist, guiding her to where Daemon was. He didn’t look happy and she spotted Bug talking to him.

“Daemon, my man,” Colt said, interrupting them, and slapping Daemon’s hand before he’d even offered it.

Rosalie kept a smile on her lips and snuggled up against Colt.

“The happy couple it is,” Daemon said.

Colt gripped her waist and pulled her in close. “That you have right.” He kissed her temple. “One hell of a party, huh?”

“Yes, it is.”

“Are you loving it, babe?” Colt asked.

“Yeah, it’s great.” She struggled to play along, but forced a smile to her lips. “Thank you, Daddy, for having it.”

Daemon glared at her.

“I can’t wait to go on this honeymoon.” She looked up to Colt and smiled at him, only this time it wasn’t fake, she was genuinely happy to be getting away. She needed a break from all of this. MC politics was giving her a constant migraine, and fearing what her father would do and trying to figure everything out was exhausting.

“You two look happy,” Bug said.

“We are,” Colt said. “Very happy. I never thought I would be, but Rosalie is special.” Again, another waist squeeze.

“What will you be doing while we’re away?” Rosalie asked.

“Work,” Daemon said.

There was a commotion near the bar and Daemon glared. “Excuse me, I’ve got to go take care of this.”

Colt grabbed her hand. “Dance with me, beautiful.”

He pulled her onto the makeshift dance floor, wrapping his arms around her waist.

“What is going on?” Rosalie asked.

“I’ll tell you later. For now, dance with me.”

Rosalie wanted to order him to tell her now, but she didn’t think it was a good idea to cause a scene.

Her happiness had already pissed off her father, which she liked. For the past few months, he’d taken great pleasure in her misery. It was time for him to understand what it was like.

Wrapping her arms around Colt’s neck, he pulled her close, and she tilted her head back to look at him. His hands were at the base of her back, not quite touching her ass, but the hint was there with the tips of his fingers gently stroking that spot.

“I’m not used to looking up while I’m dancing.”

“You only dance with Petal?”

“Yeah.”

He chuckled. “Then let’s put it on the list of stuff I’ve got to teach you.”

“A list? You’re making a list.”

“Yeah, I’m attempting to right the wrongs of our marriage. First, is being nice to you, because you’re not him. Second … I’m not going to tell you about.”

Rosalie swatted at his chest, lightly. “Come on, tell me.”

Colt leaned in close so that his lips were next to her ear. “Show you that sex is not painful and can be very fucking enjoyable.”

She tensed up, not expecting him to bring that up. “Colt?”

“Trust me.”

Did he even realize what he was saying? Doing?

He pulled her in close and she didn’t fight him. She was aware they were under scrutiny and she looked over his shoulder to see Petal dancing with Dirty. Petal looked over toward her and gave her a thumbs-up, to which she smiled.

Something was going on tonight and she didn’t know what. She glanced over to where her father was, who stood with Warden and Kim. Turning her attention to Bug, she caught him looking at her. Rosalie didn’t like it, and she quickly pressed her face against Colt’s neck. Everything was going to be fine.

The rest of the night went off without a hitch. Petal had drunk a little too much, and Rosalie didn’t want Dirty to take her home. So, as a compromise, Colt offered to ride past Petal’s home so she could see Dirty being the perfect gentleman.

Colt had insisted they go to her father’s clubhouse on the back of his bike. He’d told her it was important, and she hadn’t been able to argue seeing as Kim rode on the back of Warden’s.
