“Why do you think Dirty is there?” Rosalie asked.

“I don’t know. To keep an eye on us, maybe. I’m guessing it’s club stuff. After all, Kim’s here.”

“But wouldn’t Warden go?”

“Not if he’s busy and this was meant to be a girls’ time. Speaking of men, how is Colt doing?” Petal asked.

“Fine.”

“And have you and him…”

“Petal, get your head out of the gutter. No, we haven’t.”

“So, it’s still horrible to you?”

“Do we have to talk about this?” Rosalie asked.

“I hate to break this to you, babe, you’re on a gorgeous island, on a honeymoon, Colt has organized everything so you can relax and not stress out. He’s attractive, you’re attractive, you’re meant to be making a baby, and you’re not going to even try and enjoy the hot sex that could be on offer.”

“The sex isn’t hot.”

“It could be.”

“How?” Rosalie asked. “He hates me.”

“Someone who hates you doesn’t organize a honeymoon for you to relax and enjoy yourself. He thought of everything and he even went against your father to do it. That has to give the guy points.”

Colt wondered if he should allow Petal to keep talking.

“Hey, what are you doing?” Petal asked.

“What’s going on?”

“Dirty, he’s here and he told me there’s dolphins and sharks, but I’ve got to come quick and he’s trying to take my phone away. Get off!”

Rosalie giggled. “You know you want to go see them. Go. We’ll chat soon.”

“Think about what I said.” Petal was growling at Dirty, and then the call ended. As soon as it did, Colt stepped out of the shadows and walked toward his wife.

“I guess I have you to thank for that,” Rosalie said. “Dirty, and don’t pretend you weren’t listening into the conversation. I saw you lurking.”

Colt chuckled. “I didn’t tell Dirty to do anything. He’s pissed that he’s away on a cruise to keep an eye on my mom, and I guess Gabrielle and Petal too. He’s a good guy and one my dad trusts.” The lies kept mounting but he was not going to stop.

“I see,” Rosalie said. “So you heard most of what she said.”

He removed his shirt and next his shorts.

Watching her, she looked away and he had no choice but to move to the edge of the pool and sink beneath the water before she turned toward him again. He walked toward her.

“About how bad the sex is between us, yes, I have. I also heard what she said as well, about you getting rid of those memories of our time together, and I think it’s a good idea.”

Rosalie rolled her eyes. “Why?”

“Because we’re not at home anymore. Neither of us is being ordered or instructed on what we’re supposed to do. It’s just the two of us.” He closed the distance between them and Rosalie had backed up against the side of the pool. Putting his hands either side of her head, he leaned down. “And I know for a fact it’s going to be better than all those other times.”

“Why?” she asked.

“It’s you and me. It’s not club, not your dad. We’re not here to make a baby. We’re here to have fun and that can make it fun.” He stared into her eyes and he knew she had her doubts.

“You hate me,” she said.

“No, I don’t, but I can make the same argument that you hate me?”

She giggled. “Yeah, I guess you’re right there.” She nibbled her lip.

“Sex doesn’t have to be a job or painful. It can be fun, but it’s up to you if you’d like us to use this honeymoon to get to know one another, seeing as we’re going to be married for the rest of our lives.”

“No, we’re not…”

“Rosalie, if you end up pregnant before I deal with your father, I’m not going to divorce you. We won’t end up sharing custody of our kid or kids. We’ll be parents to them.”

“And if I don’t get pregnant?” she asked. “What then?”

“If you still want to divorce me, we’ll do it.”

“If I want to divorce you? Are you trying to tell me you’d still want to be married to me?”

“Yes,” he said. This time, he wasn’t lying. “Think about it.”

He took a few steps away from her and was about to start swimming when her question stopped him.

“How would we do this?” Rosalie asked.

Colt looked at her. “Sex?”

“Yes.”

He moved toward her and Rosalie had taken several steps until her back hit the wall of the pool. “First, you would have to want my touch. That’s what makes life a whole lot easier. If a woman wants me to touch her. Then, we do everything you want and what I want.” He reached out and stroked her cheek, tucking back some curls as he did so. “And you get used to my touch.” He slid his hand down to touch her shoulder, then gliding toward the skin above the edge of her swimsuit, close to her tit. Colt didn’t actually touch her, though, just the merest whisper of it. Taking hold of her hand, he placed her palm flat against his chest. “And you learn to touch me.”
