Chapter 19

The Addiction

Camille

The cold tingling evaporated. I sighed as my body returned to normal.

Xander helped me off my knees and steered me onto his lap. Water splashed around us.

He guided the soft sponge along my legs and down to clean my pussy.

I closed my eyes and leaned back against his muscular chest. His moist skin emanated a soothing warmth. That alluring tenna scent drifted from him.

I’m. . .so addicted. . .

I laid my head back on his broad shoulders.

So addicted. . .that is what is truly scaring me. . .

His hand spread my legs open as he affectionately dabbed the sponge at the now sore area between my thighs. “My queen, I’m addicted to you too.”

I swallowed down my fear. “It scares me. “

“Me too.”

My bottom lip quivered.

“Is that why you are so eager to try and leave me?”

“Yes. I don’t ever want to need someone else again. . .I don’t ever want to be scared to live without anyone.” I waited for him to growl or yell, but he remained silent.

“Still, you must stay with me because it is all too late.” He continued to clean my pussy. The soft material tickled my clitoris. A flicker of lust appeared. I guided the sponge away.

“Your touch, Xander, your fangs. . .your cock. . .it’s all intoxicating. It’s tearing away my ability to resist.” I cleared my throat. “In the morning, I wake up, aching for your touch, your bite. This terrifies me.”

“For me it is worse, you’re in my dreams. Your blood wakes me out of my sleep, luring me to bite you and drink all of you away.”

I shivered. “If we stay together for a long time, then it will be more intense.”

“So, you’ve been thinking that breaks between my bites and space will help us control this?”

“You don’t think so?” I turned and looked at him.

“There can be no breaks or even space.”

I blinked. “I think a break from you could weaken some of the addiction.”

He hit me with a wicked smile. “Even if that was true, you know that it would be smarter for us to stay together.”

I pursed my lips together.

“You have hundreds of Royal Guards hunting you.” He stopped the sponge. “And then there’s the mystery of your blood, which apparently changes humans to vampires?”

So, Leeta is now a vampire.

Yes. I am certain of it.

My lips separated, but nothing came out at first and then I swallowed. “It would be dangerous for you to hide me.”

“It would.”

“I won’t bring danger to Victoria and Ty.”

“We would need to leave them soon then.”

“Could we go to Charki. My mother used to tell me stories about that place.”

“Mage territory?” Heat radiated from him. He spat out the two words as though they were repulsing. Xander’s muscles grew larger around his shoulders, lifting my head high.

I leaned my head to the side and studied him.

Is he getting bigger?

I sat up and turned around to see him better. His arms bulged and pumped up with strength.

He is. . .bigger. How did that happen so fast?

“You want to go to Charki? Where no vampires can step or walk on that land,” Xander sneered. “I’ll never get to see you.”

I watched as his muscles grew an inch more right before my eyes. “I didn’t know vampires weren’t allowed in Charki.”

He growled, “They’re not.”

He is ripening quickly. Whatever ripening is. . .this has to be it.

“Xander. . .you’re getting bigger. Calm down.” I touched his chest. “Something new happens to you every time you get angry.”

“Never mind that.” He moved my hand away. “Charki forbids vampires.”

“Okay. Now I know, but you must admit that it would fix the Royal Guard problem.” I scooted off of his thigh and sat next to him, analyzing his new physical change. “Maybe, we could sneak you in or. . .I could hide there on my own until the Royal Guards stop searching for me—”

“I don’t want you in mage territory. I don’t want you where I can’t visit.”

“What about the threat of the Quiet King?”

“What about the ripening vampire prince who has made you his queen and does not want any distance between us?” His shoulders ballooned another inch.

I blinked.

“Xander. . .calm down. The goal is to get the Quiet King and Royal Guards to give up on searching for me.” The words came out a little shaky as I took in Xander’s huge form. “Even if that means a little break as I hide.”

“No breaks. You will always be by my side.”

“Xander, I won’t be your prisoner.”

Slinging the sponge to the side, Xander snarled and shut his eyes. His muscles decreased into the normal bulk as he breathed in and out. “I don’t want to imprison you. In fact, I want to do many things to and for you, but none of them would cause you pain or distress.”
