Sid was a guy Jude had hooked up with a couple of times during the summer. But he’d moved away after graduating, and Jude hadn’t expected to hear from him again. Sid was fun and a good fuck. Jude was definitely tempted. He didn’t want to sound too desperate, though, given that Sid hadn’t bothered to give him any notice.

“Sorry,” he said to Shawn. “Just need to reply to this.”

Shawn shrugged. “Sure.” He got out his own phone while Jude typed his reply to Sid.

Not sure. Pretty busy this weekend, when were u thinking?

Playing hard to get? Sid sent back.

Fuck you.

That’s what I’m hoping.

Jude snorted, remembering why he liked Sid. He was an enthusiastic bottom and pushy with it. Getting him to shut up and take it was fun, so he replied.

So, like I said. When were u thinking?

Tonight works for me.

I just made plans for tonight already. Tomorrow?

I’m busy tomorrow. Bummer :(

Jude stared at the screen, cogs turning in his brain. His cock liked the idea of hooking up with Sid. Just the thought of getting to fuck had him sporting a semi. He glanced across the table at Shawn. Cancelling their plans so he could go and get laid would make him a shitty friend, but it wasn’t like the movie was more than a casual plan, and Shawn probably wouldn’t care. Or maybe they could watch the film and Jude could go and hook up with Sid later.

Shawn looked back questioningly. “Problem?”

“Just getting propositioned and trying to decide whether I can fit him in.”

Shawn raised his eyebrows. “Must be nice to be in demand. How many other blokes do you have plans with this weekend?”

His voice had an edge to it. Envy, perhaps? Jude grinned. “It’s just this guy I used to hook up with last year. He’s back in town and wants to see me, but he’s busy tomorrow. I was trying to work out if I’ve got the energy to see him later after we’ve watched Deadpool.”

“Dude, if you’d rather go hook up, we can watch Deadpool another time. I don’t want to cock-block you.”

Shawn’s voice was casual—maybe too casual—as he shrugged and looked back down at his phone, and Jude’s stomach twisted with something hard to identify. Guilt… or could it be disappointment? Did he want Shawn to cock-block him? What the fuck was that about? He frowned at his screen, letting his thumb hover over the keyboard while he hesitated a moment longer before writing Maybe another time then.

Decision made, he sent it.

Hope so came Sid’s reply. He sounded keen.

Jude wondered if he was back for good or just a visit, but he pushed the thought aside. He had plans with Shawn tonight.

“No. I like the Deadpool plan,” he told Shawn. “And I need an early night—it’s been a busy week. Hooking up is an effort, and my right hand works just fine.”

Plus I get to jerk off all over you tomorrow.

Shawn smiled, a genuine smile that made Jude glad he’d turned Sid down. Although the realisation that he’d rather hang out and watch a movie with Shawn than fuck Sid into the mattress was a sobering one… he didn’t want to think too hard about what it might mean.

“Your pizza’s ready,” the guy called from behind the counter, rescuing Jude from his scary train of thought.

Back at the house, they found Jez, Mac, Dev, and Ewan engrossed in a game of Super Mario Bros. The guys mumbled greetings but barely glanced up as Jude and Shawn came into the living room, and it certainly didn’t look like they were planning on moving anytime soon.

“My room, then?” Jude said.

“Yeah, okay.”

“Have fun, lads,” Jude said.

“Huh?” Jez looked up briefly with a slightly glazed expression. “Oh yeah, right. Thanks. You too.”

“Fancy some beer with the pizza?” Shawn asked. “I’ve got some in the fridge.”

“Yeah that sounds good. Cheers.”

They got the beer and headed upstairs.

In Jude’s room, they moved the desk over by the bed and set up the laptop on it. As Jude positioned it so they’d have a good view of the screen, it occurred to him what they’d done the last two times they’d set it up like this.

He moved to sit beside Shawn on the bed and wondered whether he was thinking about the other, less innocent things they’d done on the bed together. The credits started rolling and the scents of pizza and garlic permeated the room—probably a good idea to focus on those things instead.

“Let’s eat. I’m starving.” Jude opened the boxes on the desk and leaned forward to grab a slice.

They soon realised they were going to drop crumbs, melted cheese, and garlic butter everywhere, so they took a box each and put them on their laps, passing slices of pizza and bread back and forth between them.

They ate in silence for a while, engrossed in the movie. When both boxes were empty, they moved the rubbish onto the desk and settled back.
