“Thank you,” I said quietly, keeping my eyes drawn from hers.

“Aht, baby girl—ours,” Julian said, drawing my eyes up to his. “Stop being ashamed of it, baby.”

I narrowed my eyes at him. He met my eyes with a challenging glint in his own. “Need I remind you, baby? I don’t give a fuck who’s in the room with us.”

Axel snickered next to me. I swung my gaze to his, a silent warning for him to stop. He shrugged at me as he leaned back in his chair, his hand not releasing mine. “I’m with Julian on this one, sweet girl.”

“You’re both fucking insufferable,” I swore as I took the cup of water the nurse offered me.

“You’re really lucky,” the nurse told me. I shot my shocked eyes to hers. “Most women struggle to find one man to properly love them, and yet, you have two. Count that as a blessing,” she told me. She gave me a warm smile before she left the room, shutting the door behind her.

Julian grinned. “Smart woman.”

I sighed. “Not everyone is going to have the same reaction she did,” I reminded him, settling more comfortably against my pillows.

Julian shrugged. “I frankly don’t give a fuck what everyone thinks, baby girl. Never have, never will.”

“You both drive me up the wall.”

Axel smirked. “Someone is getting feisty, Julian.” He winked at me. I glowered back at him, making his smirk widen.

“Can’t wait to get her cute ass home so we can find out just how feisty she’s gotten,” Julian said, his eyes not leaving me.

My cheeks flamed as Axel let out a low rumble in agreement. “I call first dibs.”

“Oh, my God, stop,” I whined. I slapped my hands to my cheeks to hide my flaming face.

Both men laughed. “You’re hot as fuck, baby girl,” Julian told me, shooting me a wink at his stupid pun.

“And we love that cute ass innocence,” Axel told me, laughing quietly. “Never change, sweet girl.”

Axel wrapped an arm around my shoulders as we waited for the Patriots to come out onto the field. It was already a chilly day. I had spent an extra week in the center after hitting my head on the ballet bar in the dance studio, and I had been released the day before Julian’s game. He hadn’t been able to come with Axel to come get me since he had to leave with his team, but he had sent a bouquet of roses and sunflowers with a small note that said:

Be my goddess, baby girl.

Axel brought the blanket tighter around me. “How’s the nausea?”

“A little better.”

He grinned and leaned down to peck my lips. “Good.”

“Any news on Alli?” I asked him.

He shook his head. “Dr. Gresham said she’s stabilizing, but it’s still a slow process. He has faith that she’s going to get better, though.”

I squeezed his thigh. “She will,” I assured him.

He hooked his index finger under my chin and turned my head to face him. My breath hitched in my throat as he slid his hand down to cup the side of my neck before his lips covered mine. I moaned softly, unable to help myself. I hadn’t had sex in three weeks, and my hormones were beginning to rise more and more.

I craved both of my men badly, but since I had been released, there had been absolutely no time for anything sexual.

I was feeling a bit deprived.

“Fuck,” Axel swore when he pulled back from my lips and saw the heated, needy look in my eyes. He brushed the pad of this thumb along my lower lip. “Later.”

“Promise?” I asked him.

He flashed me a smirk. “Promise, sweet girl.”

We sat in silence for a bit while we waited on the Patriots to come out. And when they finally did, the stadium was in an uproar. I instantly recognized Julian by the black tattoos covering the exposed parts of his arms. I released a small sigh of relief, my body relaxing further into Axel.

“I miss him,” I told Axel.

“I know you do, sweet girl.” He brushed his lips to the top of my head. “He’ll be with you tonight.”

I smiled. Julian was on the sidelines for the first half of the game, and Axel and I watched the players run all over the field, Axel loudly cheering a few times and grumbling angrily about some of the calls the referees made.

You could definitely tell the man sitting next to me used to play football.

Suddenly, the Patriots’ quarterback was roughly tackled, and his head slammed against the ground. I flinched at the sight. Axel tightened his arm around me as the stands went quiet, everyone watching and waiting to find out what was going to happen.

A stretcher was brought out onto the field. The other player was penalized and benched the rest of the game due to the Patriots’ quarterback being injured.
