She’s quivering beneath me, and that pains me. I gently run my fingers through her hair, then reach up and take hold of the shirt in her mouth.

“Now, I’m going to remove this, okay? And I’m going to trust you not to scream, because I trust that you believe me. And then I’m going to go into my bag and show you my credentials, okay? I’d show you now, but I can’t do that while I’m holding you down like this.”

I hold her and wait, praying she’ll listen and see reason. If she doesn’t…well I don’t even want to think about how I’ll have to handle this if she doesn’t.

But thankfully, after a few seconds, Roxy nods, and I remove the shirt from her mouth.

“An air marshal?” she gasps. “You’ve got to be kidding me!”

“I’m not,” I reply as I sit up and lift my weight from her body. She spins around and glares at me. I can’t tell if she’s angry or pleased by the look on her face, but she slaps me hard on the shoulder.

“Why didn’t you tell me, dick?!” Definitely mad. “Do you know how worried I was when Hannah started telling me you were this dangerous guy?!”

“I’m sorry—”

“She was saying we were going to have to alert authorities on the ground and evacuate the plane immediately when we land!”

“Yeah, she wants to escape,” I reply. “So I can’t arrest her.”

“A bank robber and domestic terrorist?” Roxy lets out a deep sigh and collapses back into her seat. “This…you can’t be serious.”

Doing something else I know I shouldn’t do, I take out my phone, unlock it, and open the photo gallery. “Look,” I tell her, opening to the recent photos I took of all the cash stashed in Hannah’s carry-on. “See? This is hers, hidden in her carry-on in the trash compartment.”

Roxy’s eyes go wide as I scroll through the shots.

“How…how much is that?” she asks.

“Roughly three-quarters of a million,” I tell her.

“Three-quarters…” Her voice trails off. “When did you find this? When did you take these?”

“While you were sleeping,” I reply.

“While I was sleeping!?” She looks up at me, obviously angry this time. “So that’s why you told me to take a nap!?”

“No!”

“That’s why you brought me in here, fucked me and told me to go to sleep!? So you could get me out of the way and go to your investigatory work!?”

“Roxy, no!” I say. “How could you even ask me that!?”

“Well, you’ve lied to me all this time already!”

I see the tears starting to fill her eyes and wish to God I had handled this differently. She’s the most beautiful woman in the world, and seeing her in pain is absolutely killing me. I’m going to spend the rest of my life making this mistake up to her. I grasp her by both hands and lean in.

“I’m sorry, baby,” I tell her. “I should have told you. I just…I didn’t want to compromise my investigation. I couldn’t risk you saying something to her. I didn’t know.”

She looks back at me, her tears threatening to spill down her cheeks. God, I wish we were on the ground with Hannah in custody so I could take my beauty to a nice meal to make up for all of this, and then back to my place where I could really make up for it. Finally, she nods, grabs a napkin, and dabs at her eyes.

“Yeah,” she says, her voice soft. “I understand.

God, she’s sweet. She’s perfect. She’s all I ever wanted and never even knew it. I lean in and pull her to my chest and hold her there. I could just cuddle with her and be a happy man. The softness of her skin, the warmth of her breath against my body, her scent that feels like home…this is it right here. This is heaven.

“You’re the best,” I tell her. “And I promise when this is all over, and we’re on the ground, I’ll make it up to you.”

“You better,” she replies with a little pinch on my knee.

“I will,” I chuckle. “I just…have to go arrest Hannah now.”

Roxy sighs and laughs into my chest. “Does that mean I’ll be on solo duty when the plane lands and the passengers disembark?”

“I told you, I’ll make it up to you,” I laugh. “I promise.”

Five Years Later…

* * *

I’m standing outside the bathroom door listening to the sounds of the shower running. My cock is hard as a rock beneath my shorts as I know my wife is in there rinsing off. She thinks I’m finishing up reading to Jane before putting her to bed, but little does she know Jane was sleepy tonight and fell asleep before Daddy could even finish the first page. Now I’m about to surprise my wife with a little replay of the day we first met.
