Honestly, I would be doing everyone a favor if I took him out. He was destined to drive the Kings and our legacy right into the ground, and since I couldn’t even get Theo and Sol to work with me to save Biba, it looked like dealing with Arvo was my responsibility.

I sent a few textbooks flying across my room, listening to them crash against my window, which I was stunned wasn’t broken yet. I hated being stuck at Stormcloud while Biba was being held captive somewhere by my own father. Just the thought of him made red blind my vision.

I forced myself to sit down on the edge of my bed, a heavy breath leaving me. I tried to find a single point in time when everything went wrong, but I couldn’t. Piece by piece, things started falling apart, leading to a mess I wasn’t sure I could fix. Not on my own at least.

I understood that Theo and Sol were wary about trusting me because of what happened between us, but Biba was the one thing that united all of us. For her sake, I thought they would work with me on figuring out where she was, but I hadn’t heard a word from them. I couldn’t remember a time when I felt so outcasted.

Was this what Biba felt like when I broke things off with her? Even if she was rescued, I couldn’t think of a reason why she would ever speak to me again after what I did to her. Every time I thought about seeing her being pushed around and bullied after we broke up, I felt sick to my stomach. That was my fault.

The only thing that brought me out of my heavy thoughts was the sound of my phone ringing. I snatched it off the top of my nightstand, which now had a chipped corner, and looked at the caller ID. I thought it would be Theo and Sol, but it was my father instead. With narrowed eyes, I answered.

“What?” I snapped, already angry before even hearing his voice.

“I need your help.”

My eyes widened. I didn’t think that I would ever hear my father say those words to me. He wasn’t the type to ask for help, which meant something terrible was happening.

“What’s wrong? Is Biba okay?” I asked him, needing to know if she was still alive or not. I worried about her day and night, unable to shake her from my mind. If I hadn’t ended things between us, she wouldn’t be in this situation, and Arvo probably wouldn’t be sitting in my throne in the King’s Hall right now.

“She’s okay for now, but Edward is going insane. I need to get away from him. So does Biba,” my father told me in an urgent tone.

“Is he planning to kill her or something?” I asked, wishing I knew their full plan. I was still pissed off that they kept it from me, but they probably knew I would have something to say about them even touching Biba.

“It seems that way. We only kidnapped Biba to blackmail Schmidt, but… things started getting out of control. Edward doesn’t even seem to care about that anymore. He has his sights on Biba, and it won’t be long before he has his hands on her more too,” my father replied.

“You shouldn’t have kidnapped her in the first place!” I snapped, reeling at the thought of Edward touching Biba.

“I never intended to kill her or hurt her. I just wanted the dean to give us our money!” my father argued. He then sighed. “I don’t want to argue. We’re running out of time.”

“Where are you? I’ll come help,” I told him, already getting to my feet and preparing to head out.

“You can’t come alone. You’ll need to bring help if we’re going to make it out alive,” my father insisted.

I remained quiet for a few seconds as I realized the magnitude of this situation. My father never asked for help, especially from me. He would chastise me if I asked him for help. What was happening was beyond his pride, and that meant I needed to take this seriously or something terrible was going to happen.

“Send me the location. I’ll let you know when we’re on the way,” I replied before hanging up. I considered calling Theo and Sol, but there was no point. I knew where they were at, and I was looking for an excuse to leave campus. I just had to leave discreetly so that Arvo didn’t think that I was up to something.

I pulled on a black hoodie and a pair of sunglasses, cloaking myself as much as possible. I didn’t want one of Arvo’s birds to recognize me and go running to their master. Once I was dressed, and with my phone in my pocket, I leaned my head out of my suite, checking up and down the hallway. No one was around.
