“Are you impressed with what you see?” Hunter asked.

“I don’t know. I haven’t seen it all yet. For all I know it could be a nightmare inside, full of spiders and rats.”

Hunter laughed. “It doesn’t have rats.”

“Spiders?”

“Everywhere you go, you’re close to a spider.”

Harlow let out a cry. “What? Why would you say something like that?” She started to lift her legs and glance around the car.

“I’m pretty sure the spider population rivals that of humans.”

“You’re not making me feel better.”

Hunter chuckled and climbed out of the car.

Harlow scrambled out. “You know that’s all I’m going to think about now. Spiders.”

He walked up to the door, pressed the security code, unlocked it, and headed inside. The alarm sounded, and he typed in the code, turning it off then resetting it as he closed the door behind Harlow.

His place was warm as he’d already stopped by earlier to set the timer for the heat to come on. It was way too cold outside and he saw Harlow struggling.

Flicking on the light, he turned toward her, taking her bag and dropping it on the floor. Silence fell between them, and he had some kind of idea what she was thinking. She looked at him, and there was a light blush to her cheeks.

Did she think he was going to strip her naked in the hallway and fuck her senseless right here? The temptation was there … damn, it was there, but he decided against that and stepped back. His cock was hard as fucking rock.

Anticipation traveled up his spine, and all he wanted to do was fuck her, take her hard and fast, and work that pussy until she couldn’t think of anyone but him. He had a feeling Harlow was a virgin, and every other time that should have him running as far away from her as possible, but for some reason, he couldn’t bring himself to do that.

Harlow was everything he should deny himself.

“Do you want a drink?”

He’d never known such difficulty in his life. Never had he struggled to turn down a woman. No one had ever drawn him in like this, not even when he was sharing with Smokey. Those were fun times. Strangely enough, since Ava came onto the scene, he hadn’t missed them.

He didn’t wait around to see if Harlow followed him into the kitchen. There was bare minimum in his place as he didn’t spend a lot of time here. Again, this place was an investment, not something he considered long-term. The club was his life, and he lived there. He only needed some downtime once in a while.

“Does my brother own a place like this?” Harlow asked.

“I don’t know. What we do with our share of the profits is up to each person. What do you want? Water? Soda? Beer?”

“Water, please.”

He grabbed a bottle of water, while he settled on a soda. Sliding the bottle across the counter toward her, he watched as she caught it. He saw her hands shake a little as she unscrewed the cap.

“Nervous?” he asked.

She looked over to him. “What?”

“You look nervous.”

“I’m not nervous.”

“Excited?”

“I have no idea what is going to happen.”

Hunter chuckled. “Did you think I was taking you to one of our warehouses?”

“Possibly.”

He tutted. “If I took you to one of those places, I’d have to kill you.”

Harlow smiled and held her water up. “It is good to know you care enough to not want to kill me.” She gave him a wink. “See, this is already looking up.”

“We need to talk.”

She rolled her eyes. “Is this where we set the terms? Raven has already told me not to do anything stupid with you.”

He tensed up. “Raven?”

“There was a thing at the bakery the other day. She saw your number in my phone and kind of put two and two together. I didn’t tell her what was happening.”

“Don’t,” he said.

“I won’t.”

“What did Raven say?”

“That you’re bound to the club. Your whole life is for the club and no one else.” She shrugged. “It’s not a shock to me. I know you’re devoted to the club. She also warned me that you use women. They don’t matter to you.”

“They don’t,” Hunter said. “I’m not looking for a wife. Don’t for a second think you’re going to be my old lady, or get me to settle down. If you still want to do this, it’s fun. Nothing else.”

Harlow nodded and he watched as she took a sip.

“But it also means you won’t tell anyone, will you?” Harlow asked.

“Fuck, no. If Big Dick finds out, he’ll cut mine off.”

“I don’t want my brother to know. I don’t want anyone to know.”

“You want to keep this shit secret?” he asked.

“Let’s just say we both get something out of this,” Harlow said.

“What could you possibly get out of this?”

Harlow didn’t answer right away. He watched as she took a long sip of her cold water and screwed the top back onto the bottle.
