Zolt and Leo followed, and Arden couldn’t help but notice that despite being the real couple here, they walked behind them without touching one another. It was kinda nice that Mike didn’t hesitate to hug Arden, even if their relationship was as fake as the cheap pancake syrup in the clubhouse’s kitchen.

“Stop ogling him,” Leo warned and slapped Zolt’s shoulder, but his husband laughed as they walked through the interior smelling of beer and liquor.

“I wasn’t!”

Arden slid his hand over Mike’s naked waist, taking advantage of his fake-but-kinda-not relationship and pulling his attention away from the full-figured girl practicing her routine on one of the twin pole-dancing stages.

“Mike’s all mine,” Arden said.

If only… What was a game to Mike, was a chocolate box filled with razors for Arden. Each sweet treat could be the one to cut him open and make him bleed arousal.

“Zolt, your chances might have hovered around three percent in the past, if I got drunk enough, but now that you're my brother’s husband, I’m as off-limits to you as Mountain Dew is to a diabetic,” Mike said and spun around, looking at Arden. “Can I leave for five minutes?”

Arden hesitated, and his adrenaline instantly spiked, but he should be fine with Leo and Zolt. “Yes, but please come back soon,” he said despite knowing it sounded needy.

Mike leaned down and kissed the top of his head, softly blowing air into his locks. “Sure will. Keep an eye on my boy, will you?” he said to his brother and jogged away, leaving Arden in the empty bar.

The stripper used earphones for music and ignored the gay boys as she sank lower, rolling her ass against the pole until only a thin strip of fabric separated her anus from the rod. So it was erotic, but also rather awkward in the empty space, with no rhythm or melody to create the right atmosphere.

Zolt cleared his throat and pulled on his dense beard. “If it wasn’t obvious, I’m not interested in Mike. You can keep him and his ego.”

Leo rolled his eyes and opened the freezer. “You’re making people uncomfortable.”

Zolt shrugged, his grin a stark white against the black facial hair. “That’s how you always keep them on their toes,” he said to Arden, winking. “Besides, I was actually looking at the ink on Mike’s back because it reminded me of yours…”

“Zolt, watch it. He’s a kid,” Leo warned, flushing to the tops of his ears.

“I’m nineteen.” Almost.

“See?” Zolt put his massive arm over Arden’s shoulders. “Worldly-wise young man with an appetite for life. Give ‘im a beer.”

Leo rolled his eyes and put some ice cubes into a clean dish towel, which he spun to create a pouch before handing it to Arden. “I think he needs this more.”

Arden hummed and placed the makeshift icepack on his aching face, relaxing into the chair. “I’ve had beer before.”

“See? He needs something to calm down,” Zolt said and squeezed his massive paw on Arden’s shoulder, which felt weirdly… fatherly, because Arden was getting no flirtation vibe from Zolt.

Leo put an open beer bottle in front of Arden. “Fine, but I’m watching you until I’m sure you’re a hundred percent sober.”

“Why do you care?” Arden asked more harshly than he would have liked.

Leo huffed, tapping his fingers on the sticky table top. “Because you don’t belong here, and I’m not saying this to be mean. This is no environment for a… man like you, and if you stick around, you’ll end up hurt.”

Arden met Leo’s gaze and pointed to his bruise. “I’m safer here than anywhere else.”

“You’d be safer out of Mike’s room,” Leo said, looking at Zolt rather than Arden.

A deep sigh left Zolt’s chest, and he smiled, meeting Arden’s gaze. “Don’t listen to him. You’re only young once. That’s the time to have fun. Just don’t expect anything more than that from straight boys like Mike.”

“That’s… grim.” Leo mused. “I used to be a straight boy too, remember?” he asked, and Arden could have sworn he poked Zolt’s thigh under the table.

Zolt spread his arms. “I’m just saying. Keep your heart safe, and use condoms.”

“Zolt! Seriously,” Leo groaned, and Arden had to giggle seeing an outlaw biker who took offence at any mentions of gay sex. Especially while being married to a man.

“What? He’s nineteen, I bet he rode a dick or two by now.”

Arden couldn’t believe his ears and snorted so abruptly beer came out of his nose.

“See? He’s already feeling better,” Zolt said and moved his hand under the table, surely to squeeze Leo’s. It was kind of sweet really.

“You know what we’ll do?” Mike asked, ignoring two hangarounds who followed him from the corridor, like kittens hoping from milk from their momma. In a fresh shirt, he was as appetizing as a warm cookie. “You need to know how to defend yourself,” he said and took a beer from the fridge.
