Andrew glared at the road as he followed a back road that winded through the woods toward the mountains, leaving any form of civilization far behind us.

“I’m just trying to keep you from dying, Emery. Don’t be so damn stubborn,” he gritted out.

I scoffed at him and crossed my arms over my chest. If he was in my position, he would be pissed off about being whisked away from his life so suddenly.

“One way or another, I’m going back to the city. I’ve slipped out from under your nose before,” I muttered.

Andrew suddenly took a sharp right and slammed on the breaks, stopping the car about twenty feet away from a small cabin nestled between tall oak and pine trees and shrubs. He killed the engine and spun around in his seat with a glare on his face.

“Don’t try me,” he warned me.

I leaned toward him, feeling my heart rate spike as we locked glares. I wasn’t backing down from him.

“You already got paid for guarding me. I can take care of myself,” I told him. “All I am is an assignment to you, so stop acting like you care so damn much.”

Andrew’s jaw tightened as we both stayed still, the air around us and between us growing heavier. His eyes seemed to search mine before dropping down to my lips. Before I could furrow my eyebrows in confusion, he surged forward and crashed his lips against mine, planting his hand on the back of my neck.

I moaned into his mouth out of surprise, heat flaring through me as he kissed me deeply. I shouldn’t be kissing him, but I couldn’t stop. He held me so close, his fingers now in my hair. I placed my hand on his cheek, feeling his stubble beneath my palm.

Andrew adopted a light grip in my hair, keeping our lips joined as they pressed and moved. Our tongues teasingly brushed, sparking a pleased moan from me.

I had been kissed before, but I hadn’t been kissed like that. He seemed to explore my mouth, taking his time to enjoy my taste and my lips. Heat stirred in the bottom of my stomach, beginning to spread throughout my entire body.

Before I could even process what I was doing, I pushed Andrew back so that I could crawl into the front seat. I straddled his lap and leaned down to slide the seat back more. I felt his hands on my hips, steadying me.

“I can’t be doing this,” Andrew breathed out as his eyes raked over my body. “I’m supposed to be watching over you. Protecting you.”

“I feel pretty safe,” I replied as I cupped his face and met his eyes, which were noticeably darker.

Andrew squeezed my curves, pushing himself up against me between my thighs.

My breath came out shakily when I could feel how hard he already was beneath me. With every fiber of my being, I wanted this man. My body burned for him, heat flowing through me like blood.

“Please,” I whispered. “I want you.”

Andrew shook his head, looking visibly pained by his own restraint.

“It’d be your first time,” he replied. “I can’t do that.”

I nearly groaned in frustration. I admired that he was a gentleman, but I needed him to listen to me and what I wanted.

“You’ll take care of me, right? You’ll make me feel good?” I asked him as I slowly rocked my hips, grinding against him.

Andrew tilted his head back slightly, resting it against the car seat. He breathed in deeply through his nose, tightening his grip on my waist.

“So fucking good,” he gritted out his promise before leaning forward to capture my lips.

I moaned in relief, kissing him as needily as he kissed me. My hands gripped his suit jacket in tight handfuls, yanking it off his shoulders and down his arms to strip it off. He was wearing far too many clothes, making frustrated noises break from me as I fought against his clothes.

“Slower,” Andrew breathed out as he slipped his hands up my back over my red cocktail dress, which bunched up around my thighs. He moved his head to kiss my neck gently, hooking his finger under one of my thin straps to slide it off my shoulder.

I nearly shuddered at his soft touch, drinking in every brush of his lips against my neck and bare shoulder. He effortlessly made me melt in his hands like wax, and I enjoyed every second of it. All I had ever done was kiss someone. My father made sure I didn’t hang out with a guy alone long enough for us to do anything. Plus, I didn’t feel the same desire back then as I did now.

Andrew grabbed the bottom of my dress and slipped it off my body, tossing it to the side in the passenger’s seat. His fingertips drifted up my bare sides as I sat on his lap with only a pair of lace, black panties on.
