“Bee,” Andrea calls out, tugging herself free and rushing to Blade’s vehicle, where he’s assisting her. She looks a little shaken up, but not too bad. I want the story from these girls. Although first, I want this fucker locked up or strung up by his balls. If we didn’t have an audience, I would have chosen the latter.

“I’ll call Beast and have him arrested. We’ll get him for abduction and attempted murder, too,” Boomer says. Law’s already on his way, but we want to secure full charges on this piece of shit.

“Sounds good to me,” I say.

I grab Andrea and lead her to the back of Blade’s vehicle as Law takes Bee in his vehicle to the hospital. The ambulance takes the prick.

“Get in.” My words are harsh and without an ounce of the civility I normally have.

“I could ride with Bee.”

“No the fuck you can’t. Get in before I spank your ass.”

She climbs in without another word. When I climb in beside her, I pull her into my arms. I expect some resistance, but she doesn’t give me any. Instead, she lets me hold her tightly.

I’m trying to calm the fuck down as I’m a ball of mixed emotions. She risked her life just now, and if we’d been late, that asshole would have killed her. I want to hold her and spank her in the same damn breath.

We drove straight to the Steeleville Hospital, where the emergency team took the asshole in for surgery to treat his injuries. I’m not sure why we bothered, but I didn’t want to deal with too many witnesses.

The entire ride to the hospital, Andrea didn’t say a word as I held her close to me. I can’t speak because there is a growing fear of losing her if I open my mouth. When we arrive, she makes sure to follow her cousin into the room to break away from me.

She’s pissed at me when I want to spank her for risking her life, but I’m the one who has the right to be pissed. Why the fuck did she hide her phone from me for the past two days? Not once did she take a call, make a call, or send a message. It went against everything someone her age would do.

Hell, most people would have a spam call or some shit. No, she hid that fucker from me for some damn reason, and as we sit there, I get more irritated.

“She’s pissed off at me,” I say when Law looks at me in confusion.

“For being mad about her endangering herself?”

“Yes. She came here for our help, and the first chance she got, and she ran straight into the trap without waiting for us.”

“Take it easy. You don’t want to push her away,” Boomer adds. He knows all about that, given that Crystal went back to her place and it had nearly cost him everything.

“I doubt I have to try that fucking hard. She’s already got one foot out the door from the start. She had her phone for the past few days and didn’t say a word.”

“Damn. I’m sorry.” He claps my back.

“No, I’m the one who is sorry. You should have Doc take a look at you just in case.”

“Trust me. I’m good.” He raises his hand, waving off my concern. The girls approach just as my phone buzzes in my pocket, and it’s a text from Demi. Anything?

“Excuse me.” I leave her there with her cousin standing with Boomer and Law with their mouths gaping open as I leave the waiting room. Walking down the hall and out the main entrance, I call Demi and let her know what happened.

“Please tell me she’s okay,” she says before I can open my mouth.

“She’s going to be just fine after she sees the doctor.” I’m sure she needs a quick scan or something, but I’m guessing it’s nothing major. Boomer’s excellent at driving and practically gave it a love tap, hitting the car just hard enough to send it off course and pinning it.

She lets out a sigh. “Thank goodness. I was really freaking out.”

“Why the fuck would you take her there with you?” I scold her. This wouldn’t have happened if Bee was still in Steeleville, where she belonged in the first place.

“She wanted to come.”

“Why? Was she looking for fucking trouble?” I question. Can Bee be trusted?

“I don’t know. She insisted on it, so I said okay. It wasn’t like he was after her.”

I tilt my head as if she can see me. Demi should know better than that. “Come on; you know damn well that’s not the case. You can’t be that dumb.”

“Don’t fucking talk that way to her,” Detective Torres snarls on the phone, snatching it from Demi, it seems.

“My woman was almost fucking shot. Don’t fucking start with me, Torres, or I’ll forget you’re a cop and kick your ass,” I bark out.
