“Should I change?” I ask.

“Why? You look hot as hell.” She rakes her gaze over me.

“I have a different bottom that goes with this top. It’s a thong.”

“If you want,” she says. “You have a great ass.”

“It’s what’s on my ass that I’m not sure of.” I turn around and adjust the fabric to show her. “You weren’t with us that first night in the hot tub, so you didn’t see this monstrosity.”

“I love Tweety,” she says. “That’s adorable.”

I cock my head at her. “Adorable? Or childish? Immature?”

“It’s precious, Ariel. But how did Alex not see it when he went down on you?”

“I was lying on my back the whole time,” I say, walking back to my room.

June follows me in, and I enter the bedroom and change quickly. Then we leave my room and head down to Alex’s suite.

June worries her lip. “You really think this will work?”

“It has to,” I tell her. “Alex seemed to be on your side last night, and if he’s not, we’ll convince him.”

We walk down the stairwell to the second floor and head to Alex’s room. My heart stampedes as I raise my hand to knock. This is very forward...and very not me. But I promised June I’d help her fix this—whatever it is. She’s a sweet girl, and next to Emily, I like her the best of all the women here.

Of course, if June leaves, I’ll have a better chance of making a love match...

No. Can’t go there. June has just as much right to be here as I do, and I’m not going to let Misty or Evangeline force her to leave.

I rap gently on the door.

No response.

I knock again, and just when I’m about to shrug at June and tell her he’s not there—

“Just a minute,” Alex calls.

His deep voice makes me shudder.

The door opens, and Alex stands there, the hair on his chest and legs slicked to his body and a white towel around his waist. A rivulet of water drips down his chest, cutting a path around one nipple.

Oh. My. God.

If he was sexy last night, this morning? He’s sensory overload. His hair is damp and slicked back from his face, and his broad shoulders and upper arms are flexed and corded.

“Ariel, June,” he says. “To what do I owe the pleasure?”

I swallow down my anxiety about what we’re about to do. “May we come in?” I ask.

“Of course.” He holds the door back.

I walk in first, and June follows me. I have the sarong around my waist, so Tweety is still hidden, but June isn’t wearing a coverup. Just her bikini, and her tits are spectacular.

I clear my throat and say what I’ve been rehearsing in my head since June and I agreed on this plan last night. “So...I was telling June about our date.”

He smiles. “I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.”

“Oh, yeah. I did. I told her how you made the evening so magical by having the chef recreate a southern meal for me, and about how we spent time talking and getting to know each other. And then...”

“And then...” He raises his eyebrows.

“I invited you to my room.”

“Yes,” he says, smiling. “That was fun.”

“June and I were thinking. She hasn’t had a chance to spend much alone time with any of you guys, and we were wondering if maybe we could make our own date.”

Alex wrinkles his forehead. “What exactly do you have in mind, Ariel?”

“I...uh...”

June steps forward and slides her finger underneath Alex’s towel.

A surge of jealousy hits me like a punch to my gut.

No. I have to work through this. It was my idea, after all. Besides, I don’t have any claim on Alex.

“I really would like to stay on the island, Alex,” June says, her voice seductive. “And since you seem to be on my side...”

Alex places his hand over June’s, stopping her from pulling down his towel. “I am on your side, June. We all are. Evangeline isn’t going to make you leave.”

“Oh!” June leaps into him, wrapping her arms around his neck and her legs around his waist. “That’s great news!”

In the commotion, Alex’s towel falls to the floor, crumpled at his feet.

My eyes go wide, and not because June is wrapped around him like a monkey climbing a tree.

Because his cock grows before my eyes, and he’s looking straight at me, his hazel eyes full of fire.

My lips tremble.

My whole body trembles, and flashes of the pleasure he gave me last night warm my flesh and shoot between my legs.

He sets June down, and her jaw drops as she spies his erection. “Wow...” she exhales.

Alex opens his mouth, and I’m expecting him to say something all alpha like, “see something you like?” But instead—

He picks up the towel. “Pardon me. I apologize.”

“For what?” June says, still staring.
