Tam’s heart wanted to explode out of his chest, actually. Had been for quite a while. Probably ever since Driver had knocked on his door. “Way too fast,” he said on an exhale so his voice sounded breathy and slightly panicked.

Driver closed the distance between them. “Mine too.”

His cologne smelled so masculine Tam want to roll in it and let it soak into his skin. Tam bit his lip against a shiver, but there was no holding it back. He fought the urge to close his eyes because the heat between them was so strong and so delicious it was hard to process it with his eyes open. And anyway, his focus narrowed so all he could see were Driver’s hooded eyes and luscious lips.

He didn’t want to move. He didn’t want to face reality. He just wanted to stay there, locked in place and filled with this strange, exciting feeling.

“Fourth question.” Driver’s voice was deep and gruff.

Tam bit his lip, feeling like he was on the edge of a cliff waiting for someone to push him off. Hoping for it, even. If he took the leap he might fly, but he couldn’t jump alone. He needed someone to guide him.

“Do you want me to kiss you?”

Air rushed from Tam’s lungs. His lips trembled as he looked up at Driver.

Could he give himself up to the pleasure? Driver wouldn’t judge him for wanting, he was sure. God, that was such an inadequate word, wanting. You wanted a piece of cake. You wanted a new pair of shoes. This felt deeper, necessary.

Yes. He needed. His body ached with it. His cock throbbed like never before and even his hair was tingling. He needed to feel Driver’s lips on his. Needed to taste Driver’s kiss. Needed it with everything he was.

With shaky hands, Tam dropped the cue. It clattered to the floor, but neither of them seemed to care.

“Yes,” Tam said.

Then Driver groaned. “Fuck,” Driver said, his voice filled with ferocity. “You’ve been driving me crazy all night.” Driver didn’t give him an inch, his sweet breath fanned Tam’s lips.

Soft. Everything was so soft, Driver’s hand in his hair, his lips, the gentle way he brought their bodies together. Even the scratch of Driver’s facial hair against his skin was soothing like velvet. All Tam could do was fall head first into the clouds because his body was weightless—flying, and he was suffocating with the rush.

“You can stop me,” Driver said.

“I don’t want to.”

* * *

Driver meant to take it slow. To just give a taste, but Jesus, Tam’s timid yearning drove that plan right out of his mind along with the last question he was going to ask. As soon as their lips grazed, Tam whimpered and all was lost.

Tam’s barely there clasp on his shoulders was so tentative and reserved. The way he explored Driver’s lips with his tongue all curious and coy. Even the unconscious rocking of his hips like he was listening to some secret song no one else could hear. It all drove Driver to the brink. He tilted his head, sweeping his tongue into Tam’s mouth, then sucking on his lip playfully. Tam’s answering moan pushed him to do it again and again until he could memorize that sound.

Driver shifted until his thigh was between Tam’s legs, and angled the kiss for deeper contact. He knew an opportunity when he saw it and like hell would he miss this chance. No one had ever accused him of being cautious, because he wasn’t. He was a jump first, look later type of guy.

Tam kissed with his whole body, hands clutching Driver’s chest, hips undulating. And fuck, the sounds that came out of him. This was how desperate people kissed. People who were so pent up they couldn’t help themselves. God, just thinking about what he could do to Tam, right there in Brandon’s fucking dining room, sent Driver closer to heavenly oblivion.

What a rush.

Kissing Tam was more exciting than straddling his bike. Even more breathtaking than that time he bungee jumped off the High Steel Bridge in Washington. His heart thundered in his ears and his hands shook as he fingered loose strands of Tam’s long silky hair.

Tam tasted sweet and tart like raspberries and vanilla. Driver licked inside his mouth, chasing another hit as if it were the only dessert he’d ever have for the rest of his life. Their breath mingled every time their lips separated so the atmosphere between them heated like a sauna. Driver wasn’t sure if that was why his lungs burned and his chest strained or if it was because he was holding back his need so forcefully when every cell screamed for more, more, more.

His every focus was on how their lips interlocked, the taste of Tam’s tongue, the feel of his strong body.
