“Nope. But a pay raise wouldn’t hurt.”

Maria coughs next to me, trying to hide her laughter.

“Some say a bullet may not hurt either, but I beg to differ.”

“Tomayto, tomahto,” he says, and I shake my head at him.

The women we bought a week ago have been in rehabilitation, which is the first step for them. Some need longer, and some need just enough time to get clean. Maria checked on them today, and they seem to be doing okay. Only time will tell. Some of the women I buy go straight back to the life I pulled them from, while others are glad to be free and want to live life any way they can as long as they get to choose.

Most of my girls are that way.

I buy them to save them, but in return, I give them a job. Here. Some who are not comfortable playing with customers serve the drinks or have other jobs in the club. But there are many who are more than happy to earn extra cash.

It’s usually couples who frequent the club.

We do get some singles, but it’s mostly couples wanting to explore different options.

My girls, and guys, give them that.

I have rescued men as well. They can be tricky to keep in this field, but some stay loyal.

I didn’t start off owning a sex club. I began investing in dance clubs, then moved to purchase my own. When that grew boring, I ventured into the sex side.

Sex makes money.

It’s a billion-dollar industry.

From sex shops, to books, to strip clubs.

Sex sells.

Everyone knows it.

But in this town, to have something like that, you need protection. And that form of protection for me is Keir. A mafia boss who’s more than happy for he and his men to own a percentage. In return, they do nothing but add their name to my establishment.

It works.

No one fucks with something the mafia own unless they want to be six feet under.

Despite not owning the club outright, I run it as if I do. They have no say—it was in our contract, and it works for all of us.

Some of his men are clientele.

I raise my head as the door to my office opens. Two girls walk in, dressed differently from the first night I saw them. The blonde is more eager, while the other one, who was too busy scratching her arm the last time I saw her, looks like she has some nice color back in her face.

My establishment has one rule—no drugs.

It’s non-negotiable.

People fuck.

They can drink.

They can spank.

They can play out almost any fantasy here.

But if you bring drugs into my establishment, you are out.

That goes for my workers as well.

“Maria has explained to you what is expected?” I ask them. The blonde fidgets nervously as she focuses her gaze on the floor. “You don’t have to do anything you don’t want to do. It’s your choice.”

“We owe you?” the one with the scarred arms asks.

“You do. You can work here, earn a wage, and I’ll take my cut. Or you will find another way to pay me back.”

“I can’t have sex with anyone,” she says and looks at the blonde.

“I will,” the blonde replies.

Maria nods. Happy with both answers.

“Nothing will be forced on you. All my employees have every opportunity to say no to any customer they choose. This is a place of fun…and money. Do you both understand?” They nod, and I look at the blonde. “Maria will set you up with shopping and salon day and whatever else you will need.” Looking at the other girl, I tell her, “The same for you. The house you are both in, do you like it?”

They nod.

“The girls are nice,” the blonde says. “It feels safe.”

“It is. No one would dare come in here and fuck with what is mine.” One of the girls puts her head down as a small smile touches her lips while the other smiles at me. They probably aren’t used to safety.

“It’s your first night, so you can stay behind the bar and get a feel for the club, then you can decide.”

Again they nod, and I watch as Maria walks them out.

“So, do you plan to see her again?” Captain asks, sitting on the free seat.

“Yes.”

“Then you do like her.”

“She owes me one more date, and that’s it.”

“You think after one more date that you’ll be done?” He throws his head back and laughs while clapping his chest hard. “You crack me up. You stay away from women so you don’t get attached, and yet you run a business full of women who you help. They all may see you as a badass, but we know you are a softie.”

“A softie who is going to fire your ass and set your beloved car on fire if you don’t fucking get out of my office.”
