And drinking with the Sons of Templar boys was also pretty fun. In addition to a lot of them being very attractive, they all liked to party. Not as hard as me, though. I even gave the youngest member, Javier, a run for his money.

Though Javier had kept a healthy distance from me since the incident with the gun.

Colby did not keep a healthy distance. He was within glowering distance, nursing the same beer the entire night. I did the best I could to ignore him. Then I did the best I could to get as drunk as I could when I couldn’t ignore him.

Then, when I was tempted to not ignore him since I was so drunk, I thought the best course of action was to dance on the table.

Cheers sounded from around the packed room.

I smiled, moving my hips to the sound of the music, strutting along the bar as the men hastily moved their drinks out of the way.

The music ran through me as I dropped down into a squat, smirking at Javier as I snatched his beer, took a long pull and winked at him before straightening and continuing my performance.

My blood thrummed hot as the music vibrated through me. Though I’d always liked being the center of attention, it wasn’t dancing on the bar in front of a bunch of outlaw bikers that got me turned on … it was dancing in front of Colby.

I was dancing for Colby, if I was honest.

To piss him off or turn him on, I wasn’t sure. All I knew was that I was doing it for him, even though I wasn’t even looking at him.

And even though I was pretty drunk, I was waiting for him to do something. Because I understood Colby enough by then to know he would do something. It was childish. Petty. But I was doing it anyway.

And I was also right. Because I only made one more gyration of my hips before I was yanked off the bar, throwing me over his shoulder.

He grabbed me roughly but not enough that my head slammed into his back. He positioned it so I just kind of tumbled there gently.

Boos sounded from around the room.

I beamed at everyone as Colby stomped us out, not even trying to fight him. What was the point? Wasn’t this what I had wanted all along?

The music receded as he took us down the hall and into a room that I knew was his the second we walked in because it smelled of him.

Colby placed me on unsteady feet then glared at me.

There was no playfulness in his expression.

“You got what you wanted,” he said in a flat tone. “What are you gonna do now?”

“I have no idea what you’re talking about,” I jutted my chin upward. Suddenly, I was thinking that my plan maybe kind of sucked.

I hadn’t expected Colby to be so pissed. Hadn’t expected the room to be filled with so much tension, nor had I expected to feel so electrified by him.

“You know exactly what the fuck I’m talkin’ about,” he retorted. “You’re playing games, Sariah. I don’t like when women do that shit.”

“Well, let me just make sure I act in accordance with what you like about women,” I told him with a saccharine smile.

“I should fuck some sense into you,” Colby murmured quietly, without even a hint of playfulness. Nor sultriness. No, this was pure deadly badass.

Fear speared through me at the evidence that this was not just a hot guy in a leather jacket; this was a bad motherfucker who was dangerous as fuck.

And I was turned on.

But fuck if I’d show him that.

I crossed my arms in defiance, meeting his eyes, careful to school my features. “A classic male,” I tsked. “You think your cock is so important, so special it can change me into acting however you like.” I crossed the distance between us then went up on my tiptoes, grasping the sides of his cut so his mouth was inches from mine.

A part of me, a very big part of me, wanted to abandon all of my plans of defiance and kiss him, let him fuck me against the wall.

But I was too stubborn for that.

“No man, certainly no cock, can make me act any kind of way,” I told him in a whisper. “But…” I leaned in so our lips barely brushed. “I can promise you my pussy will change every single thing about you and make you fall at my feet.”

Then I turned from him, going to join the club party, tagging a bottle of Jack on the way and not looking back.

CHAPTER

FOUR

I sighed when I looked at the caller ID of my ringing phone as I walked out of my class.

Normally, I would just screen him like I’d been doing for the past few weeks—since the party at the club—but I had an overeager male attached to my side.
