Her shoulders fall, and a grateful smile crosses her face. “Willow, that’s so sweet. Thank you.”

“No thanks necessary,” she says and slides a look my way. “Unless you know of any hot, single bikers?”

I laugh. “I might know a few,” I tell her with an indulgent smile.

“Don’t forget,” she says and points at me with a knowing grin.

“If your matchmaking session is over, I think I’ll busy myself with cake batter.” Maven wears a small smile as she reaches for an apron on the hook and ties it around her waist, a waist I now know is trim and slim.

“It’s over,” I tell her. “And I’m happy to taste test anything you need,” I tell her suggestively.

“Anything, huh?” Willow laughs at her raunchy suggestion that matches my own. “Wow.”

“Willow,” Maven growls even as her face flushes hot pink.

“And that’s my cue,” I say with a laugh.

Maven frowns. “Where are you going?”

“Gonna miss me?” I tease her and wiggle my brows. “Kidding. Joaquin and Jordi are here with Gia to install the new equipment.” I turn to Willow. “And they’re both single as far as I know.”

Willow blurts out, “Need any help?”

“Thanks, but you might be too much of a distraction for them. Later.” I make a quick escape before Willow starts interrogating me about the brothers. I’m not matchmaking any damn body, certainly not with my brothers. It’s a recipe for disaster.

Outside, I greet them with, “Hey fuckers, ready to get to work?”

Joaquin jumps from the back of the van, wearing a smile that’s far too big for this time of the morning. “Work? We should all still be in bed with wet dicks and a warm woman.” He grins and hooks a thumb toward the van. “Ready to unload?”

“Yeah. The girls are busy in the kitchen, so we should start in the front.”

Gia nods. “I’m thinking smaller cameras in the front. They’re harder to spot, so if anyone pulls any shit, we’ll see them clearly on these babies.” She flashes a proud smile.

“You’re devious,” I tell her and follow her around the back of the van. “Should Preacher be worried?”

“Only if he does something to bring out my devious side. These suckers are motion activated, so we won’t have to change out the batteries.”

“And they can transmit to our servers?”

“Yep. Auto backup every thirty seconds on the local drive in Maven’s office, which I’ve connected to our servers.” She smiles and grabs the first box before casting a narrow glare at Joaquin and Jordi. “Come on guys, put those muscles to good use, or are those just gym muscles?”

Joaquin laughs. “Gym muscles? These are hard-earned mechanic muscles, babe. Real strength, one hundred percent.”

Gia rolls her eyes. “I’ll believe it when I see it.”

Joaquin grunts and grabs a box. “Why couldn’t we do this shit at noon?”

I frown. “Because Ace wants it done first thing this morning, that’s why.” I shake my head at the prospect. “After how shit went down with Hector, I think you’d be happy for a job you can actually handle.”

“Damn,” Joaquin says and stretches the word out for about ten seconds. “Rock solid burn, Wilder. Let’s go, Jordi, before you end up on toilet duty or some shit.”

Jordi laughs. “You got someplace else to be?”

“Fuck, yeah, I’m hoping a certain big-tittied blonde is still in my bed when I’m done here. You know titties, right, or has it been so long you forgot?” Always his own biggest fan, Joaquin tosses his head back and laughs at his own joke.

“I see plenty of titties,” Jordi shoots back as I hold the door open for them all to enter. “More titties than you know what to do with.”

“And they all live in Russia, right?” Joaquin looks to me. “Isn’t that where the mail-order brides are from?”

“Sometimes they live in New York,” Gia offers with a teasing grin.

I grab my laptop and set up in the corner just beyond the windows so I can see pretty much everything that goes on without being seen. I won’t put it past Cyrus or Nogales to do a drive-by or two just to see who’s hanging around For Goodness Cakes. Gia connects the cameras, and I test each one to make sure we’re getting the right angle.

“Gia, move that camera in the chocolate waffle a little to the left.”

She readjusts the camera and moves on to the kitchen, so it’s just me and the guys.

“You meet Stone yet?” Joaquin looks over his shoulder while he covers all tracks that cameras have been installed.

“Not yet. You?”

Joaquin nods. “Yeah. He showed up just after midnight while we were still partying. It was just me, Dix, and Shades by the time he got in, but he seems like a cool dude.”

“His MC is a chapter of the Reckless Bastards in Mayhem, and those guys are all cool. Gave Coop permission to join our ranks.”
