“Keep that in mind if you ever feel like crossing me.”

I stop as we reach my locker and Damian turns and leans into it as Slade steps into my back. “Trust me,” Damian murmurs. “I might act like a fucking idiot sometimes, but I’m not that stupid.”

“Bullshit,” Slade laughs, curling his arms around my waist. “You’d cross Sky for a warm pussy to sink into.”

Damian grins and it’s not worth responding as we all know what his response will be, but when it comes down to it, I know he’d have my back.

I zone the boys out as they laugh about their ridiculous little comments and turn into my locker. I get all my shit sorted and just as I’m finishing up, Rachel steps into our circle, looking up at Damian and running her skanky little red nails down his chest. “You didn’t come over last night.”

All eyes fall to Rachel as Damian looks down at her, ignoring her hand on his chest as he raises an amused brow. “You’re fucking kidding me, right?”

Her eyes slice across to me before looking back up at Damian and I have to give her credit. The girl must have balls of steel to step into this circle. “You’re not seriously letting this bullshit with her affect what we have going on here?”

Damian takes her hand from his chest and throws it back at her. “You’re damn fucking right, I am,” he tells her. “Though I figured you’d have worked it out by now, it’s been a fucking month since I’ve touched you.”

“I figured you were just pissed and that you’d come around.”

“Not likely,” he says as his eyes raise over her head to take in Nessa at her locker. A small smile plays on his lips and it’s clear as day that whatever he feels for Nessa is so much more than just some girl he convinced to climb into bed with him. “I’m done with you, Rachel. Go find some other sorry asshole to sink your claws into.”

“What?” she shrieks, stepping back and glaring up at him and making me want to smack that look off her face. After all, I have scars on my arms from her claw marks that need to be made up for. Though, any scar I have, she’d have more. “Are you kidding me?”

“You’re a good screw, Rach, but I’m done. You’re toxic and quite frankly, you’re a fucking psycho bitch.”

She sucks in a loud gasp and is just moments from tearing into Damian when Nessa steps in beside Rachel, on the opposite side of Damian as if to keep herself away from him. “What’s going on?” she questions, eyeing Rachel, easily picking up on the tension coming off me.

Slade laughs, happily being the one to fill her in. “Well, from what I can tell, Rachel wants to keep screwing Damian but now that he’s fucking you, he couldn’t be less interested.”

Nessa’s cheeks flame and memories from the party on Friday night come shooting through my head. I suck in an amused breath. “I completely forgot about that,” I say wide-eyed as I meet Nessa’s eyes. “Did you really?”

She looks everywhere except for at Damian and I laugh. They so did and now she’s being awkward. Great. I’m just moments from picking her up on it when Rachel laughs up at Damian. “You’re kidding. You downgraded to that trash! You better go and get yourself tested. You had everything with me. You traded gold for shit.”

Damian leans down into her and seeing the way her back straightens as she pulls away is enough to make my day. “No,” he tells her. “I traded an easy screw for fucking sunshine.”

Nessa gasps and stares up at him in shock but he doesn’t dare meet her eyes. Slade’s arm tightens around my waist, sending a message and silently asking if I understand what’s going on here and I have to admit, I think it’s pretty damn clear; our little Damian is falling for the Lochness monster.

“You don’t mean that,” Rachel says hurt, realizing that not once did Damian ever refer to her as ‘sunshine.’

“Fucking try me,” he says, his eyes blazing with the challenge. “Just wait and see what happens the next time you refer to my girl as trash.”

Nessa chokes on her own breath but with Rachel still here, she doesn’t dare try to correct Damian. That’s a conversation for later, one where I know exactly what will be said and I’m damn sure it will consist of Damian biting his tongue while Nessa talks at him, not to him.

Rachel looks between all of us, just now realizing that this isn’t a group she wants to be standing among, she backs off. “Alright, I get it,” she says with a thick attitude. “I’ll back off. It’s not like you were that good anyway.”
