“I’m not beautiful,” he replied, then frowned, having realized how it sounded. “I mean…you know what I mean.” Jude rubbed a hand over his face, flustered.
“I know you guys have missed me, but no worries! I’m here!” Carter was the next to approach us, a man on his arm I didn’t recognize.
“Pfft.” Sawyer huffed, rolling his eyes.
“Jealous?” Carter asked.
“You wish.”
“Methinks you are. No worries, sweetheart, it’s normal. I’m a bit of a catch,” Carter replied.
“I’m beginning to feel like the attention isn’t on me right now, and you guys know how much I hate that. Anyone wanna watch me and Rush make out?” I teased.
“Mmm. I vote for making out.” Rush’s arms wrapped around my waist from behind.
“See? I knew there was a reason I liked you!”
“I think there’s more than one,” he replied.
“They’re upstaging us, Beau. Are we going to let them upstage us?” Ash joked.
“Yep,” Beau answered, which was so like him.
We continued chatting for a while before working the room. It seemed to be going well; many items donated from people around town were being bid on. Trey wasn’t there because we didn’t want him exposed to all the germs, but Tyson was.
Before I knew it, the night was coming to a close, and Rush tugged me into a quiet corner. “I need to head out so I can get to the airport in time for my flight.”
It felt like he just left, and the truth was, he had just left, but I tried to hide my disappointment. If I was going to be with Rush, this was something I had to get used to. I pushed up onto my toes and said close to his ear, “I’ll miss you.”
“I’ll miss you too. You know you can stay at my place if you want? Then I can come home to you Sunday.”
Um…no. That would be weird. It made no sense for me to stay at his place when I had my own home. “Or you can just come home to me again?” Rush’s team drove his bike to and from his races, so he didn’t have to worry about it before or afterward. Otherwise, he wouldn’t be able to take a flight and would be gone even longer.
“Okay.” He nodded before leaning down and taking my mouth. Fuck, I would never get enough of Rush Alexander’s lips. His tongue dipped inside, and I sucked it, fisting my hand in his short hair. It felt like the kiss had just begun when he was pulling away, waving, and then he was gone again.
CHAPTER THIRTY-TWO
Rush
Rush Alexander just participated in a fundraiser for a young man with cancer. It’s not surprising. That’s the kind of man he is.
I’d qualified much higher in Minnesota and placed third in the race. It was my second podium in a row, which was fucking incredible, but also made me pissed all over again about the time I had lost.
After the race Saturday night, I’d gone back to the hotel, spoken to Linc, ignored my father, and gone straight to bed. Now it was Sunday morning, and my flight had just gotten in. I went straight to Linc’s. It was ridiculous that I missed him when it had only been a few days since I’d seen him last. We’d spent so much time together when I was hurt, I wanted to be in bed with him every night.
It didn’t take me long to get to Linc’s condo. He said he would leave the door unlocked for me, so to just come in. The door had just clicked closed behind me when Linc came out of the bedroom and—“Holy shit.”
My dick swelled on the spot, went painfully fucking hard behind the zipper of my jeans.
“I figured you might need a nurse to check you out… Riding is dangerous, you know.” He smiled at me, wearing what definitely wasn’t the scrubs he wore at the hospital. It was more like a sexy-nurse Halloween costume, with a short white skirt, a button-up white shirt with nurse in the right corner on his chest.
Linc turned his back to me and flipped up his skirt, showing me he wasn’t wearing any underwear. Damn. The idea of fucking him in that skirt suddenly sounded appealing as fuck. “I think you’re right, Nurse Red.” Grabbing my dick, I added, “I think you might need to check this out right here.”
“That’s very crude of you. I’m a professional, you know.”
I nodded. “Sorry about that, Nurse.”
“Come here.” Linc pulled out the chair at his small kitchen table. I walked over and sat down. He stood in front of me, and I wrapped my arms around him, sliding my hands up his thighs to grab his ass. Linc swatted my hands away. “You’re being highly inappropriate. I’m examining you, not the other way around.”
My cock already ached, my balls heavy and full. Christ, I loved him. I hadn’t known how much I needed a naughty nurse until that moment. “I’ll be good,” I said with my hands in the air.
