None of that compares to lying here with Iris on my chest.

Her smell, her softness, the way I can feel her breath gently brushing against my arm as she inhales and exhales—it’s all a simply magical moment. And her body fits against mine perfectly like we’re a couple of puzzle pieces made to go together.

“So how was that for a first time?” I ask after what feels like an hour of us lying together on the couch.

Iris inhales deeply and props herself up on my chest with both arms, gazing down into my eyes. Her hair is a mess, thanks to me, and she looks spent. Like she just got done with an intense workout at the gym.

“How was that?” she asks in a mocking tone. “Is that supposed to be a joke?”

“I was just making conversation.” I grin with a shrug.

“It was awful, Jameson,” she replies, flicking me playfully on the nose. “Now drive me home in that Porsche of yours before I call the cops on you.”

We both burst out laughing. It’s good to see we haven’t lost any of our old shared sense of humor.

I swing my feet off the couch and hoist Iris over my shoulder like a Viking carrying his new bride back to his boat. She squeals with delight and clutches on to me with her thin little arms as I march from the room and mount the steps to the second floor.

Her giggles in my ear are pure music that goes straight to my soul as I carry her into my bedroom and toss her down on my bed. I’m still rock hard as I lean down and take the strap of her lingerie between my teeth and pull.

She hoists her hips up to help me get them off her, and I growl as I set them aside and mount her, slipping into her sweet canal once again.

I’m drowning in my passion and desire for her. It’s unbelievable. Completely unmanageable. I don’t see how I’ll be able to get anything done with her around. All I’ll want to do is fuck her silly. Seeing her gorgeous face twist with pleasure is enough to drive me crazy. And that’s not even counting how incredible she feels.

“Again, Jameson?” She moans, her lips twisted into such a sexy smile beneath me as I rut inside her.

“Oh, yes,” I reply, as I begin to thrust harder. “I’ve missed you so much, Iris. I’m just getting started. And by the way, happy birthday.”

Chapter 7

Iris

When I wake up, I don’t even open my eyes right away. I just smile. I smile because I know exactly where I am, and I can remember perfectly everything that happened last night.

Incredible.

I can feel the fresh, soft, warm sheets against my naked body and smell the scent of Jameson around me. I can tell, however, by the feel of the mattress beside me that I’m alone in bed, and when I finally open my eyes, I see a little blue Post-it note with Jameson’s handwriting on it stuck to the dresser.

I’m downstairs. Take all the time you need, princess. No rush =)

My heart fills with warmth as I read his words. I was so not ready for any of this. Last night I was committing to a new job that I wasn’t comfortable with at all, and now I’m lying here in Jameson’s bed, feeling like I’ve been brought home.

I feel terrible saying this, but even though I have been living at home with my mom, with a roof over my head, I’ve never felt like I’ve actually been home. Not since my dad left.

I’ve felt like there’s been something missing. Like a huge chunk of my chest was torn out by a wild bear with razor sharp claws and I’ve been bleeding—slowly dying ever since.

Until last night when Jameson returned.

Smiling, I slide out from beneath the comforter and stretch. The curtains are open to the floor-to-ceiling window beside me, but I’m not worried about anyone seeing me standing here naked; there isn’t a soul in sight. The Morgan Manor was built out here on its own piece of land, away from town, away from everybody, with privacy in mind. So unless there’s some crazy man out hiking in camouflage with a pair of binoculars, spying from the woods, I can walk around this house all day long without anything on and not worry about being seen by anybody.

What freedom.

The floor is warm beneath my feet too, I notice. Jameson must have had one of those under-the-floor heating systems installed when he renovated. Despite it being autumn, I’m not the least bit chilly as I make my way from the bedroom and downstairs, where I find Jameson standing in the kitchen with his back to me.

I try to sneak up on him, walking on just my tippy-toes, but before I can even get half-way to him, he spins around and snatches me up in his arms. I squeal with surprise as he tosses me over his shoulder and grabs my butt with his strong, callused hand and squeezes.
