We have a child now. My mom is healthy and making progress, and Eliza has her business. And when I think back to the days that I used to drive around, alone, looking at the lit windows of other peoples’ homes and wondering what their lives were like, tears nearly come to my eyes because I think of just how far I’ve come and just how differently my life could have turned out if Jameson hadn’t come back to me.
“Yeah, dinner can wait,” I tell him as he sets me down on the bed. I open my eyes and see my gorgeous husband looking down at me, his eyes filled with lust, and my heart swells like it could burst with happiness.
He grins, looking so charming, and leans down and kisses me.
“Yeah, I thought you might say that.”
“I love that you can read my mind.” I smile back.
“You know what I love?” Jameson asks.
“Me?” I ask back.
He nods. “You’re damn right, baby. You.”
Yeah. My heart’s about to burst.
“Well, that’s awesome,” I reply, feeling my cheeks go redder than red. “Because I love you too.”
