“Fucking fuck,” he gasped, biting into Wells’s neck as he pulled out slowly before slamming back into him. Wells squeezed him as he groaned just as loud. Soon, the rhythm was intoxicating as Matty moved in and out of Wells, their moans and harsh breathing mingling as the car rocked. If Matty weren’t crazy with lust, he would have laughed, but all he could do was grit his teeth as he fucked Wells, his orgasm coming on hot and fast.

Feeling like he was almost there, Matty pulled Wells’s head back against his shoulder, capturing his mouth with his own. They kissed sloppily, Matty still inside of Wells, pulsing as he kissed him. Pulling away, Wells grinned as he held his gaze, and Matty swore he fucking fell all over again for him. He’d never forget the first moment he’d realized it. They were skiing back in Colorado, and Wells had taken a nasty fall. For a split second, Matty thought he was dead. When he realized Wells was okay, not a broken bone in his body, thankfully, Matty had looked down at him as he lay in the snow and thought, “What if he had died?” He knew in that instant that if Wells had, he would have been lost. And that meant one thing, he loved him. How could he, when Matty didn’t even love himself? But as he gazed into Wells’s green depths on that mountainside, he knew somehow, he had fallen. And just like that moment, Matty felt himself doing it all over again.

Holding Wells, his fingers pressing into his forehead, Matty pulled out and slammed back in as his breath was lost. They held each other’s gaze, and Matty fucked Wells hard until he couldn’t anymore. He jerked inside of him, filling Wells’s sweet ass with his orgasm as his name fell from Matty’s lips. Pressing his forehead into Wells’s chest, Matty let out a rush of breath before inhaling through his nose. He shook his head.

“I can’t believe we just made love in the rental.”

That time, when the car started to shake, it wasn’t from their lovemaking.

But from their laughter.

Fourteen

Hours later, after lying on the beach and having dinner, Wells found Matty’s hand with his own, entwining their rough, callused fingers as they watched SportsCenter, both handsomely naked and spent. Exhaling contentedly, Wells leaned his shoulders on Matty’s. Matty smiled. “Worn out?”

Wells scoffed. “Just a tad.”

“This has been great.”

“Yeah,” Wells agreed, his heart full and happy. “We’ll meet Avery in the morning?”

“Yeah, at nine. She says Ashlyn gets cranky around one, so she wants to get to the beach early since Ashlyn will probably nap before we leave.”

“Are you sure you don’t want me to push back our flight?”

Matty shook his head. He appreciated the suggestion and loved that Wells would stay as long as he wanted. But they were leaving for Cancun in a few days, and he really needed to go shopping. Plus, he didn’t want to overstay his welcome. He didn’t want Avery to feel like she had to entertain him. He wanted to ease into this, not rush and pressure them to love him. It would take time, he understood that. So did Wells; he was actually the one to suggest that Matty take it slow. He was good for that wise old man stuff, though he didn’t appreciate it when Matty teased him with that. “No, it’s fine. We have things to do, and they have things to do.”

“Yeah,” Wells agreed, snuggling closer to Matty. “I can’t wait for next week. This mini trip has been more than I hoped for and, shit, it was emotional. Just think. Us, with no cares, on the beach. It’s gonna be awesome.”

Matty smiled, kissing his temple. “It will be.”

Wells laughed then. “Guess who texted me.”

Matty shot him a sideways glance. “Who?”

“Alex.”

His body went tight. “No shit? For what?”

“He needed to get into my apartment. He left his makeup box—”

“Makeup box?”

Wells looked over at Matty with warning dancing in his eyes. “Don’t. I didn’t even know till a month before the wedding.”

Matty sputtered with laughter. “I didn’t think you were into that kind of guy—”

“I’m not. Stop.”

Matty fought back his grin, realizing that Wells hadn’t been the least bit happy with Alex’s choices. “Man, I sure saved you.”

“Oh, jeez, get over yourself,” he shot back, rolling his eyes. “Anyway, he needed to get in, and then asked how I was. Told him I was good. Asked how he was. He told me he’s over me, and things are great. I told him that was awesome and good luck. Then later, I got a long-ass message about how much of a dick I am because I didn’t feel bad at all for crushing his world.”

Matty made a face. “But he’s over you?”

“Exactly. I mean, I feel like shit for what I did, and I wish it had played out differently, but he texted me.”
