“Was this the first time you’ve had sex in a shower?”

“Well, yeah.”

He blinks down at me, and then a slow, satisfied grin spreads over his stupidly handsome face. “I like that. I like that a lot.”

I smirk and then duck out from under him and get to work cleaning myself up.

“We have to meet some of the others in thirty minutes for lunch. If I don’t get moving, we’ll be late. I hate being late.”

“We’re on vacation,” he replies. “I don’t think it’s possible to be late for anything on vacation. No one is in a hurry.”

I don’t bother to wash my hair, but I do wash my face, resigned to the knowledge that I’ll have to make quick work putting on a new face of makeup.

When I’m all clean, I hop out of the shower and grab a towel, dry off some, and then wrap it around me as I search for my makeup bag.

And then I hang my head in my hand when I realize that I left it on my vanity back at the house.

“Shit.”

“What’s wrong?”

“I forgot to grab my makeup bag. Damn it.”

“You don’t need makeup.”

“I do need moisturizer and at least some mascara. I wonder if there’s a Sephora in this town. Or a drugstore, at least.”

“There has to be a drugstore,” he replies and pulls up his phone to check. “Yep. Less than a mile away. I can walk it.”

“Not in this cold.”

“I have a coat, London. Here, order what you want on the app, and I’ll go get it. It won’t take me more than thirty minutes.”

“Are you sure?”

“Of course.”

Relieved, I put the items I need into the cart, along with a snack or two, and hand it back to Drew.

“Hold on, I’ll grab my card.”

“I’ve got this,” he says, shaking his head as he kisses me on the cheek. “Be back in a few.”

And then he’s gone, rushing off to pull on some clothes. I hear the front door close behind him and then stare at myself in the mirror.

“What did I do to deserve him?”

The woman staring back at me looks…happy. Dewy skin still flushed from the warm shower and a few rounds of incredible, mind-blowing sex. Eyes bright and full of joy. And that smile? I don’t remember the last time I saw a smile like that on myself that I didn’t have to force.

It was long before Drew, that’s for sure.

“He’s good for me,” I decide as I walk into the closet to get dressed. I reach for skinny jeans and another sweater, pull on some socks, and then return to the bathroom to brush my hair and teeth.

Life has never been better. My kid is happy and healthy. My businesses are all thriving.

And I’m completely head over heels in love with the sexiest man on the planet. His body is to die for. I don’t think there’s an ounce of fat on him. He’s sculpted, and his ass is just so…squeezable. Maybe even biteable. Yeah, I definitely want to bite him.

I honestly can’t get enough of him.

But it’s more than the physical. Sure, he looks like he was sculpted out of marble, but he’s just so damn nice. But not too nice.

“Maybe nice isn’t the right word,” I mumble as I finish unpacking my suitcase and fold my sweaters, setting them on the shelf in the closet. “He’s kind. Yes, that’s it, he’s kind.”

I nod, happy with that description.

I absolutely love how bossy he is in the bedroom. He’s happy to simply take over, putting me where he wants me and telling me what he needs from me. I don’t have to be in charge, and for someone who has to be in control of literally everything in her universe, having Drew simply take the reins is a really great break from reality.

I hear the door open, and Drew hurries into the bedroom, covered in snow and panting from the exertion of walking so fast.

“That was more like twenty minutes,” I inform him as he passes me the bag. He shakes his head, sending snow tumbling onto the floor around him, making me laugh.

“I hurried.” He kisses me, and his nose is cold. “My girl doesn’t like to be late.”

“Thank you. Oh, you got me peanut butter cups. You’re the best.”

“You forgot to add them to your list. I know they’re your favorite.”

I blink at him and feel tears threaten.

“What did I do wrong?”

“Nothing.” I shake my head and hug him close, not minding in the least that he’s wet and cold. “You’re so thoughtful.”

“And here I thought you were still emotional from all the crazy-good sex.”

I chuckle and look up at him, moved by the gentle way he smiles down at me.

“I love you, Drew.”

He doesn’t lose that smile. It doesn’t slip one bit. He brushes my hair off my cheek and leans down to cover my mouth with his.
