“It’s a living.” He shrugs. “Now, tell me about you.”

“I graduated with my business degree a month before my parents died,” I explain. “Between their funerals and your brother deciding to marry me off, I haven’t had time to decide what I’m going to do when I grow up,” I tease to lighten the mood.

“I’m glad Lorenzo decided to marry you off to me. It’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me.” My heart melts at his words.

He changes the subject and tells me about his MC brothers. My mind whirls trying to keep up as he talks. “There are several of us. Jason “Cash” Montoya, the club President, is the CEO of his family’s investment bank. Bender Valentine, the rockstar, is one of my brothers. Another is Rafe “Lynch” Soracco, the architect who designed the Silver Spoon Falls Opera House. Tate “Hands” Grimes, a local pediatric surgeon, is the club VP. Landon “Cowboy” Rickman owns the Silver Spoon Ranch. Andreas “Playboy” Romano is the CEO of Romano Shipping. Jude “Fifth” Despora is the senior partner in one of the biggest law firms in Texas. The club has a genius computer hacker, Finn “Hacker” Taylor. And you know Giant. He owns a security firm that contracts for big-time clients, including my brother.” All the names overwhelm me.

“Rose and I investigated the Silver Spoon Falls MC, but I still haven’t managed to memorize everyone’s names,” I admit. “I have no idea how I’ll be able to keep all these men and their wives straight.”

“Don’t worry.” Damien squeezes my hand, sending electricity shooting down my spine, and I nearly lose track of the conversation. “I’ll help you.”

“So,” I’m a little confused and need him to clarify something, “all of you guys have nicknames. Do I call you Damien or Angel?”

His warm smile heats me from the inside out. “I’m Damien to you. My brothers and a few other people call me by my road name, but I want to hear my actual name coming from your sweet lips.”

I might be a virgin, but that doesn’t stop my girly parts from tingling at the fire I see reflected in his gaze. I grab my glass of water and down it, trying to cool my overheated blood.

Our food arrives, and I breathe a sigh of relief when Damien dials back the conversation a little while we eat.

By the time we finish our dinner, my mind is spinning as I try to absorb everything.

“I’ve never done any of this before,” I blurt out. “I mean, this is my first date.” Hopefully, he catches my drift.

Damien leans over to whisper next to my ear, “You’re my first everything, and you’ll be my last.” Wow. Does he mean “everything?” As he leads me to the truck, I attempt to work up the courage to ask.

“Everything means everything.” He reads my freaking mind. Damien closes his door, sealing us in. “I’ve lived my life in the limelight and had to be careful how I acted,” he explains. “It got to a point that I decided to wait for my soulmate.” Wow. “You,” he adds.

“What happens now?” I still can’t believe how fast everything is moving.

“Now, we get to know each other.” Damien makes it sound so easy. “Then we’ll decide how we want to handle our future. My brother will want to make a huge ordeal of our wedding, but we’ll do what you want.”

I spend the entire ride back to my apartment lost in thought. My dreams are within my grasp, and I won’t let fear hold me back. Damien walks me to my door. “Would you spend the day with me tomorrow?”

“I’d love to.” When he pulls me close to cover my lips with his, I nearly beg him to come in with me.

“I’ll pick you up at nine.” He smiles. “Wear something casual. We’ll go for a ride.” Damien wiggles his eyebrows and I laugh.

“See you then.” I step into the apartment and close the door behind me.

“Looks like you really gave him hell.” Rose laughs.

“I’m in love,” I blurt out.

“I already knew that.” My best friend reaches for the remote and mutes the television. “Now, come over here and tell me something I don’t know.”

I sit next to her and give the toned-down version of my date. There are some things I won’t share with anyone. Even my best friend.

DAMIEN

Feeling her soft body pressed against my back sends hunger coursing through my blood while my cock grows harder behind my zipper. We’re heading to the Silver Spoon Falls Riviera for a picnic and a walk around the lake. Giant recommended a little hidden area that Cash found on the back side of the lake. The large manmade lake has a country club on one side with an amusement park on the other side. The furthest back side bordering the woods has less traffic since there are no amenities.
