From what most of my friends had shared over the past year and a half, their experiences were nothing like this. It was mostly described, as a few minutes of hot and sweaty tumbling with not much finesse that was over too soon and they didn’t really feel any different afterwards. In other words they were just having sex because they could.

If he can make me feel this way with just what he did in his jeep, I can’t wait to see what he does when we go all the way. And the things he whispered in my ear, oh my word. I squeezed my legs together to hold that sweet ache inside and felt my nipples tingle. Ergo the reason I’m sitting out here and not rushing inside.

“I’m not gonna come in, Facetime me when you’re done for the night.” He came around to let me down from the Ranger and kissed me one last time and I got clingy. “Go on inside baby.” I missed him already.

I walked to the door on shaky legs, looking back every few steps and he stood there watching. He didn’t get back in the jeep until I was inside and I heard him drive away moments later. Once inside I made sure mommy and daddy knew I was home and rushed upstairs to take my shower. I couldn’t wait to get on Facetime with him.

But I remembered what he’d said and did my usual routine, hanging with the family for a while even though the house was full of my aunts and uncles some of whom were getting ready to head over to grandpa and grandma’s house for the night.

No one said anything and I gave nothing away since I’d remembered to hide the mark on my neck. “You guys are back early.” Daddy commented when I walked into the family room.

“It’s a school night remember.” He didn’t say anything more but I knew he was pleased. I guess Todd does know what he’s talking about there.

I took part in the conversation and kept myself from checking my watch every second and then it was time to go up to my room. Everyone knows that although I go to bed at the same time as my siblings, I stay up for at least another hour or more on the phone or Facetime with Todd.

I use to resent the fact that my bedtime was the same as the younger kids, but daddy’s right, I feel refreshed and ready to face the day in the mornings when I wake up. Now I have so much more to look forward to, I can’t wait to go to sleep and wake up again. I still haven’t come down yet it seems.

I closed my door but didn’t lock it and laid across my bed with my iPad on the nightstand in front of me. “Is everyone gone?” That was the first question he asked.

“If you mean Davey yes he is.” I grinned at him, getting a kick out of the fact that he was so jealous. It’s the first time I’ve seen it as far as I can recall and it felt good to know that I wasn’t the only one.

“Cute! By the way when are you going in for your driving test?”

“Wednesday, isn’t that great?”

“Is your dad going with you?”

“Either him or mom, why, do you want to go?”

“No, I just wanted to make sure that it wasn’t that driving coach from the high school he sucks.”

“Caitlin, about that car.”

“What about it?”

“Don’t get all defensive, I know you like to drive fast but promise me that you’re going to be careful behind the wheel.”

“I pro…what’s that?”

“Turn off the computer.” He yelled the words and fumbled to turn his off but it was too late. I screamed as his computer crashed to the floor and went running for the door. “Daddy!”

TODD

I heard the noise seconds before she asked. I’d already seen where Mancini and the guys had added the security to the house, had found all the eyes and ears, but stupidly hadn’t turned them on before jumping into bed. It’s because I’m not accustomed to doing it here. That, and the fact that she had me so worked up I could hardly function.

I saw the shadow at about the same time I heard the noise but my only thought was to protect her from seeing what was about to happen. The shot rang out and I heard her scream seconds before I knocked the Mac book to the floor.

I rolled off the other side of the bed and crawled. The room was in darkness but there was light coming in through the window. “I told you I’d get you asshole, come outta there.” I used his voice to decipher where he was in the room. I only had one chance at this since I didn’t have a gun on me.
