“Come on.”

He let out a sigh that sounded somewhere between pleasure and agony. “Now’s not a good time.”

“Why not?”

“Because I’m nearly naked in bed with you, and we’re both a little tipsy again.”

My cock jumped.

“So what?” I asked.

“So, bad things happen when we’re tipsy.”

I dragged my fingertips over his nipple again and he groaned as my hand trailed down to his hip.

“You’re saying what happened the other night was bad?” I asked.

He was silent, staring at me with a million emotions on his face.

“Fuck, Ev,” I said. “I feel like I can share anything with you. Say anything to you, admit anything to you, do anything with you. You can do the same thing. I hope you know that.”

Evan swallowed hard, letting out a slow breath. “Yeah,” he finally whispered, clearing his throat. “That’s… good. That’s what friends are for, right?”

“You’re not just a friend, you’re the best friend I’ve ever had,” I said. “Why do I always want to…”

I paused, letting my words trail off.

“What do you always want to do, Mitch?” Evan asked.

“I always want to do so many things,” I said, my voice low.

He bit his bottom lip, and I reached out with my thumb, gently pulling it down.

And then, miraculously, he leaned forward, pressing his lips against mine. Finally, I exhaled a breath I hadn’t known I was holding.

This was all that I’d needed.

Kissing him was like finally finding the missing puzzle piece that had been gnawing at me all week. Everything felt like it snapped into place, and I was doing what I was supposed to do, with my lips on his. His body relaxed the moment our lips touched, too, and he reached a hand out to grip the side of my head. I kissed him slowly, taking my time, breathing in that fucking irresistible herbal scent that only made me think of him.

After a moment, I pulled back. “That’s what I always want to do,” I whispered. “At least… lately. Since coming back to Amberfield. I always fucking want to kiss you, Ev.”

“Oh my God,” Evan said, reaching up and running a hand through his hair. “You’re going to kill me.”

“Why?”

He stared at me for a moment, as if he was deciding whether or not to answer me.

But then he closed the distance between us again, crushing his lips to mine instead of saying a word.

Evan

Whatever spell Mitchell price had cast on me so many years ago, it hadn’t worn off. Not even a little bit. And the best way to keep warm in a snowstorm is with your own, personal quarterback, after all.

I wasn’t thinking.

I didn’t let myself think. All fucking week I’d been thinking and thinking and overthinking, and I’d had about enough of it at this point.

Because right now, Mitch was almost naked in bed next to me. My literal teenage dream. My cock was doing the decision making now, and the only thing in the fucking world it wanted was more of Mitch.

He sank back into the mattress as I leaned over him, one of my palms pressed to his chest. I opened my mouth to his and our tongues met, a rush of wet warmth. I’d been craving this for my entire life, and his body was like a drug.

“God, you feel so good,” Mitch murmured.

“I don’t know what you’re doing to me,” I responded, my eyelids half open.

“Oh, I haven’t even shown you half of what I want to do to you,” he said.

He wrapped his arms around my torso, pulling me down so that my body was pressed against his. There was so much skin to skin contact, and for the first time all night I was burning up instead of freezing.

Christ, I could fucking devour him. I moved and pressed my lips to the upper part of his neck just below his ear, and he groaned, deep and satisfied.

“Fuck, Ev,” he said, his palms pressed tight on my back, holding me close. “Why didn’t we… why didn’t we do more of this… should have done it sooner…”

I tried to ignore what he was saying. I tried to push down my emotions and focus on the fact that I had a delicious man in front of me, a man I’d wanted forever, and now I could have him, in some small way. I knew he was only using me as a physical outlet, and he’d never want more.

But right now, I needed that physical outlet, too.

“I’m gonna need you all the time,” he said.

Those words practically broke me. I paused, drawing in one deep breath near his hair before rolling onto my back, staring up at the ceiling.

“Hey,” he said, immediately leaning over me. “What happened? Are you okay?”

“Just… give me a minute,” I said.

My heart was slamming in my chest and it felt like every nerve in my body was in overdrive. I didn’t know whether I wanted to cry or fucking come.
