He and his sister were going to have some words. “That wasn’t her place to say anything.”

She smiled. “So, it is true.”

“Fay?”

“I was angry, but then, I think I kind of like it. Do you not like it when other guys notice me, Blaze?”

He gripped her ass even tighter, pulling her against him. “Feel that?” His cock was rock-hard. It was what Fay did to him. “That’s for you, and only for you.” He needed her, but not tonight. When he took Fay, she was going to be lucid. No doubt about her alertness.

“Fay Griffin, we have done this dance before, but it was only a kiss, and you never remembered. I’m not going to do anything else that you won’t remember the next day.” He kissed her full lips. “One day I will tell you everything I’ve done for you, but only when you’re ready, and only when you realize just how much I love you.”

He’d never said the words out loud, but saying them to her now, it felt good. It felt right. He did love this woman, so fucking much.

Chapter Eight

Fay woke up and looked across the bed toward Blaze. Last night was a blur, and she wasn’t entirely sure what had happened. She didn’t have a headache. It was rare for her to get a hangover headache.

She’d gotten home using a cab, that she remembered. Then she had made sure Blair was safe home as well.

What had happened when she got home?

Blaze hadn’t been home. She’d waited for him.

Her body didn’t feel like they’d had sex.

The blanket had ridden down over his body last night, and he sighed, rolling over. The length of his cock caught her attention.

In the last couple of days with him, she had learned he was a deep sleeper. She wanted to touch and explore him without his penetrative gaze on her.

She placed her hand on his chest. At first, she just paused. Not moving. Holding herself perfectly still as Blaze continued to sleep. He was rock solid, firm, and she stared at his face, slowly drawing her hand downward. When he showed no signs of waking up, she finally took the chance to look at him.

His ink ranged from tribal ink to a variety of pictures across his body. Some made sense, like a cat within a jungle. A skull and crossbones.

Fay paused with her hand on his abdomen as she looked at the ink on his chest. She’d never noticed it before as she’d been too afraid to get caught staring at him, but seeing it now, she was taken aback.

Right across his heart was her name. Just Fay.

“If you’re going to touch me, stop tormenting me,” Blaze said, making her gasp and jerk her hand away from his body.

“You’re awake?”

“From the moment you rolled over.”

“How is that possible? You’ve never been awake before.”

Blaze smiled and opened his eyes, and he didn’t look the tiniest bit sleepy. “I’ve been watching you sleep.”

“Creepy,” she said, offering him a smile.

“I could call you the same thing. I didn’t touch you, but I can tell you, babe, I wanted to.” He reached out, taking her hand and placing it back on his stomach. “I’ve got no problem with you touching me.”

She didn’t continue her downward travel but traced her name across his chest. “What is this?”

“Your name.”

“When did you get it?”

Blaze stroked some of her hair back from her face. “Do you really want me to say?” he asked.

“Yes.”

“A couple of years ago.”

“You did.”

“Yeah, I did. I realized there was no other woman I wanted on this earth, and I was going to have you.”

Fay frowned. “You’re telling me there hasn’t been any other woman in the last couple of years.”

“That’s right.”

She found that hard to believe.

Fay tried to scramble her brain for any memory that would call him a liar, but there was none. Blaze hadn’t been with women. In fact, she seemed to recall Blair complaining, saying her brother needed to get laid so he’d stop meddling in her life.

“Why?”

“You know why, Fay.” He held on to her thigh, stroking a finger up toward her pussy.

“Because you wanted to have sex with me?”

She released a gasp as he pushed her to the bed, spreading open her thighs to make room for him.

“Yeah, I want to have sex with you. I want to make love to you. I want to fuck you. I want to make you beg for only me, and to wipe out any notion that you’re ever going to leave me.”

“I’m not going to leave you, Blaze.”

“No, you’re not.”

To other women, his assumption that she wouldn’t leave him might piss them off. Fay … liked it. She loved knowing that a couple of years ago, he made a choice to keep her and that he’d been working toward having her.
