Energy drained out of him along with cum, and he collapsed onto the mattress next to Leo, not bothering to move up yet, which left his legs partially hanging off.

He might change position later. Maybe.

He put his cheek on Leo’s firm buttock, and his face rose with every deep breath Leo took.

“That was so hot, Zolt.”

“Tell me more. Am I hotter than your almost-fiancé?” he asked with a raspy laugh, sliding his arms around Leo’s waist with the intention of using his ass as a pillow for the night. He was far too tired to change the sheets or even get to the middle of the bed where he usually slept.

But Leo looked back at him without a smile. “I never felt like this about her.”

“Yeah? She never ate your ass?”

Leo reached back and slapped the side of Zolt’s head, laughing. “I’m being serious!”

A stiffness spread through Zolt’s muscles, and he met Leo’s warm gaze, suddenly unsure how to interpret it. “Never felt about her, how?”

“This… passionate. I can only see it now. But maybe it’s just because she never tormented me the way you do. I’m not gay,” he added quickly. “I loved sex with her. But it was… different.” Leo fumbled around under Zolt, but by turning to his back he took away Zolt’s ass-pillow.

“Tormented?” Zolt demanded, finding just enough energy to climb on top of Leo and rest his weight on him. His temples pulsed until he could hear blood drumming in his head, but he didn’t let anything show and looked down at Leo. “How do I torment you?”

Leo wrapped his arms around Zolt’s waist, legs spread to accommodate him. God, if perfection existed, it lay in Zolt’s bed right now. “Did you forget how you treated me earlier? Or how you tease me all the time? How you squeezed my dick and didn’t let me come for half an hour when sucking me off yesterday?”

More like ten minutes, but Zolt took that as a compliment.

“Maybe you need to propose to a very bad girl next time,” Zolt teased, and the suggestion made the anxiety which underlined everything since Leo compared him to his ex-fiancé, finally subside. Leo was hardly the first guy who needed a man in their life to understand what it was that they wanted from a straight relationship.

“I don’t think I’m ready to think about it just yet,” Leo groaned and slid out from under Zolt.

Grabbing his wrist was a compulsion, but when Leo looked back with a question in his eyes, Zolt pulled him close. “How about you stay? That sofa can’t be comfortable in the long run.”

Leo didn’t even blink. “What if I don’t want to go back there tomorrow?” he whispered. “It’s hard to downgrade after getting a feel of something better.”

Zolt stopped breathing, but as silence hung in the air, he found the energy to shrug and start pushing back the covers. “Easier for me to pin you down first thing in the morning.”

Leo grinned, climbing back under the covers. “I also have this thing about sleeping with someone…”

“What thing? Like… a secret fetish?” Zolt asked, frowning.

“Kind of.” Leo snuggled up to Zolt and wrapped his arm around him. “I like to be the big spoon.”

The stiffness penetrating the fibres of Zolt’s muscles subsided, and he snorted, shaking his head at the sentiment. “I don’t think I’ve ever been the small spoon.”

Had he ever even been a spoon? He wasn’t the kind of guy who immediately kicked his hook-ups out of bed, but he’d never enjoyed cuddling in sweaty sheets much, which was why he’d gotten a bed big enough to fit two men and a large empty space between. But he was too tired to push Leo away.

“Then it’s your time to see how you like it.” Leo said with a smile and pulled Zolt closer, pushing him over to his side.

Their naked, warm bodies slotted together, and Leo pressed his face against Zolt’s shoulder, entwining their legs. The dampness of sweat still clung to their skin, but Zolt didn’t mind it much. It would soon evaporate anyway, chased off by the heat they both produced.

With just the bedside lamp on, the room was submerged in a dusky light, with long shadows cast on the wall across from Zolt. He saw their outline too—a single lump atop the bed, completely immobile as peace sank its fingers into Zolt and evened out his breathing.

He didn’t think he’d ever lain like this with anyone—not since his early childhood. Instead of distress, Leo’s arms, the breadth of his chest, and the heat of his breath provided only comfort, making him sleepier by the second, like the lightly-woven blanket his parents used to cover him with.

He didn’t get to finish his thoughts before he fell asleep.

Chapter 16 - Zolt

It turned out Zolt really enjoyed spooning. He never told Leo this, but he hadn’t asked him to leave the bed or pushed him to the other half of the mattress since that first night together. Why change something that worked?
