Leo cocked his head and accidentally-on-purpose brushed his knee against Zolt’s again. “And you always had such a grim outlook on things?”
Zolt’s lips twisted into a smirk when he met Leo’s gaze. “Well, for starters, my parents didn’t like one another very much. And my grandpa was clearly happier after Grandma died. I thought it was just them at first, but high school cured me of all my delusions. I’ve had sex with some guys who had girlfriends. And there was this one with who I was getting it on with for three years. He’d have all those girls, who came and went, but he’d always come back to me when he had an itch to scratch. It was super-hot,” he added and exhaled, looking up as if he were remembering his youth with fondness.
“And the girlfriends never found out?” Leo was surprised to realize that only ice cubes were left in his glass, but wouldn’t pour himself more whisky. He wasn’t about to risk ending up as drunk as last time he’d been at Zolt’s.
Zolt grinned and rubbed his beard. “I told you, I know how to be discreet.”
There it was again. That unspoken temptation heating up Leo with more ease than even the strongest liquor. “How did you even know you were gay in the first place?”
Zolt’s smile widened, as if the question took him back to memories he held dear. “I was twelve, I think, and I got really obsessed with this guy whose family moved in next door. He was two years older, and I believed he was so… grown up, so smart. I thought about him the first time I jerked off. I think that was when I knew.”
Leo stared at the ice melting in his glass. The rush of alcohol helped with this conversation somewhat, and it put him at ease that the man he was to share a home with for an indefinite time was open to chatting, but he still couldn’t choke out what was really on his mind.
“And that guy from high school… what happened with him? Is he gay now?”
Zolt let go of the bottle, squeezing his hand into a fist before stretching out all his fingers “Totally straight. Married his final high school girlfriend. He was never interested in dating me, or any other guy. I think my skill at giving head was just too good to pass on,” he said, winking at Leo.
It was as if the room had shrunk, pushing them together.
So Leo wouldn’t be the first guy to just be a bit curious, go with the flow of the moment just to go back to his normal life later. He was now single, so experiments wouldn’t hurt anyone, and it wasn’t as if he could look for a prospective wife while living at Zolt’s.
But as Zolt’s foot touched his under the table, he had to face the truth. This was why he’d volunteered for the job. No matter how straight was the arrow pointing to his future, deep down, he couldn’t deny that Zolt’s interest not only flattered but also excited him. Nothing he’d experienced could quite compare to the rush of arousal of their brief make-out session, and he was back for seconds.
“And you do that with guys? No strings attached?” Leo couldn’t bear looking into Zolt’s piercing eyes, so he pretended the ice in his glass was beyond interesting.
Heat exploded all over his body when Zolt’s foot moved alongside his again, their touch so stunningly intimate Leo found it hard to keep still.
“Yeah. I don’t do strings. Not romantic ones, at least,” Zolt said in his even baritone.
“I want that,” Leo rasped, squeezing the glass so hard his knuckles whitened. “Just to try.”
Zolt took a deep breath, and as he leaned forward over the table, a large, warm hand touched Leo’s thigh, sending a bolt of lightning straight to Leo’s balls. “That’s all right. I think you’re very attractive. But I’m sure you already know that.”
Leo bit his lip hard, forcing himself to breathe slower, but his heart beat frantically, as if it wasn’t quite sure yet what the outcome of the fight-or-flight response would be. “I know I’m okay-looking, but you… you’re next level.”
Zolt’s blue eyes appeared slightly darker in the warm light, but he didn’t hesitate and pulled off his T-shirt, revealing that amazing chest. Muscular, tattooed, and covered with dark, trimmed hair. Leo was entranced, even if the sudden display of flesh intimidated him more than he’d like.
“You mean this? It takes time and dedication to be in such good shape,” Zolt said, watching Leo with a greedy smile.
Leo appreciated the male form. He had his opinions on who was handsome and who wasn’t, but he’d never really ogled guys. Lots of the male bodies he’d see around the club were of straight guys, or worse—straight and family.
