Without waiting for her to arrive, I snag Kaylee’s hand and pull her over to the dance floor. She’s dressed in a tight little shimmery dress with tall as fuck heels, her blond locks down and messy. Her fingers delve into my hair, and my hands grip the curves of her hips, grinding against her. This club isn’t like most. It’s not as loud and crazy. The clientele is a bit older and on the wealthier side. The music is more sensual, the lights lower.

The song transitions from one to the next, and I tighten my hold on Kaylee as our bodies sway to the beat. My knee is nestled between her thighs, so close to her cunt that I can feel her warmth. I drop my face into the crook of her neck and suckle on her heated flesh, then kiss my way across her exposed skin. My hands skate down to the swell of her ass and give it a slight squeeze.

She shivers in my arms, and I chuckle, loving the effect I have on her. The fact is, it doesn’t matter what we do—our attraction, our chemistry, is so goddamn potent that the possibility of it ending in sex is always present.

When she sighs into me, squirming a bit, my lips meet the shell of her ear. “Are you turned on?”

“You know I am.” Her thighs tighten around my leg, squeezing it like her pussy does to my dick when it’s inside her. I lift my knee slightly, rubbing it against her center. When she moans, I know I’ve hit the right spot, so I keep doing it. Her moans get louder the closer she gets to her orgasm, and when she detonates around me, I crash my mouth to hers, muffling the sound, just in case. The music is loud, but I don’t want to chance it. Her body trembles, and I can feel the wetness between her legs even through my jeans.

When she comes down, sagging into me, I end the kiss, and her sated eyes meet mine. “I want you now.”

I grin at that, loving that an orgasm isn’t enough for her. She wants me. “Not tonight.”

“Yes, tonight,” she argues. “I bet there’s a bathroom somewhere...” Her gaze darts around the area.

“I’m sure there is, Crazy, but we’re not finding out.” I palm her neck and kiss her softly. “No sex... not until I woo you.”

We spend the next few hours dancing and hanging out with our friends. Declan shows up but doesn’t stay for long, saying he’s not in the mood to play the fifth wheel. When Layla says she’s tired and ready to go home, we all head out. I want to ask Kaylee to come home with me, but I don’t, wanting to mean what I said. Instead, when I kiss her goodbye, I thank her for tonight and tell her I’ll text her later.

CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVE

KAYLEE

“Wow! You did all this?” Tears fill Layla’s eyes as she takes in the private room filled with pink-and-white balloons and streamers. There’s a three-tier pink-and-white cake with a princess-crown topper, dozens of matching cupcakes and cake pops, as well as several kinds of pastries.

Tables with pink linens and comfy chairs are spread out throughout the room, and a couple of servers are walking around, offering everyone coffee and tea since the shower is being held at The Tea Room.

“When you were pregnant with Felix, you didn’t get a shower.” I shrug. “You deserve to be spoiled a little.”

She nods in understanding, wrapping her arms around me. “Thank you.”

“That’s what best friends do, especially ones who take over their best friend’s guest room.”

“Oh, stop it,” she chides. “You know I love having you close to me.”

It’s been almost a month and a half since I’ve moved in with Camden and Layla, and while they keep saying I’m welcome to stay as long as I want, I need to seriously find my own place. I’ve started working at Blackwood, and with the pay they offer, I’ll be able to afford rent without a problem.

“I know, but my plan is to be out before the baby comes.”

She pouts slightly but doesn’t argue.

“This all looks so great,” Kendall says, giving us a hug. “I can’t believe I’m going to have a niece soon.” She rubs Layla’s belly since she doesn’t mind. She actually encourages it. “Have you thought of any names?”

“A few,” Layla says, “but we haven’t decided yet.”

“Well, whatever you don’t use, you can use for the next baby,” Sophia says with a laugh.

“Funny,” Layla says back. “Don’t say that in front of your son, though. He’s already asking how long we have to wait for me to get pregnant again.” Everyone cracks up even though we know she’s not kidding.

“Saw you were spotted out with Declan last night,” Bailey says to Kendall when we’re all seated with plates of sweets and cups of coffee and tea.
