“Come on, pup; let’s give them some privacy,” Zack told Blake as he led him back to their chair, and Holden and Ollie snuggled together once again as well, with my best friend wiping his boy’s eyes dry.

“I promise to get you a ring at our first stop,” I told Frankie as he sank back onto my lap.

“I don’t care about that,” he insisted. “I just want you.” He was too damn sweet and I was going to buy him the most blinged-out ring I could find. “But can we really get married by Elvis? That sounds pretty cool.”

I laughed and hugged him tighter. “Sure we can.” I’d do anything to make him happy.

He rested against me and we watched the landscape together again. The thick line of trees thinned out, allowing more sunlight into the car, though it was beginning to dim as the hours ticked by. Luckily it was still bright enough for us to see down into a beautiful gorge as we passed a bridge above it. It was lined with a rock face and was speckled with lush trees and cozy homes.

“Did I just hear your tummy growl?” Holden asked his boy from beside us.

“Yes, Daddy. It’s very hungry so it’s getting loud.”

“Well we better find some food to put in there.”

Ollie giggled and nodded as he stood up, motioning for all of us to follow him. He led the way through the train cars like a pro, and I wasn’t a bit surprised that he knew his way around.

“Oh wow, Daddy; it looks just like the dinner ride we took!” Ollie had insisted that I joined them one evening on the dinner train that visited our hometown, and he was right, they looked similar. This car also had tables with crisp white linens and waiters running around in vests and bow ties.

“This takes me back,” Zack said with a chuckle. He’d met my friends for the first time as a waiter on that dinner train and had come so far since then. Now he ran his own catering company and was renowned for his dishes.

We all sat at a table together and browsed through our menus. “Oh, look, Ollie,” Blake said, reaching his arm over Ollie’s menu to tap on it. “They have chicken tenders.”

“Yes, my favorite!” Ollie did a wiggly dance of excitement as we all smiled at the little cutie. “I’ll have that please, Daddy.”

“You got it, baby,” Holden replied, handing over a pack of crayons that he’d pulled from his jacket pocket. He was always prepared for his boy.

“So Ollie, have you decided when you’d like for Blake and I to come fix you dinner?” Zack asked. That was the thoughtful wedding present that he and his pup had offered to the happy couple.

Ollie laid his crayon on the table for a moment and asked, “Can you come Saturday the 15th?” That was the Saturday after we would return from our trip; apparently the sweet boy couldn’t wait very long for his special meal.

“That sounds perfect,” Zack smiled. Ollie clapped and went back to his coloring as Holden thanked the couple again for their generosity.

Soon, we dug into delicious meals ranging from Ollie’s chicken tenders to flank steak and veal parmesan. Of course we all passed around our plates and took bites of each so that we could try them all, and each one was just as tasty as the last.

We were all served a creme brulee dessert. At first, Ollie was a little disappointed that it wasn’t a special ice cream treat like his previous train ride, but Zack made it special with some gummy bears he had in his pocket. He was always prepared as well. I had the best damn friends.

Once we were all full to bursting, Ollie leaned back in his chair and sighed as he patted his stomach. “That was very yummy, Daddy. Can we go relax by the windows again?”

“Sure, baby boy.”

Ollie once again waved us on, and Zack and Blake happily followed, but I had other plans. “Actually buddy, I’m kind of tired. I think Frankie and I are going to go on to bed.”

All of my friends (even sweet little Ollie) looked at me in a way that said they knew we weren’t going to be sleeping any time soon, but they didn’t say anything.

“Well then, enjoy your rest,” Holden offered with a wink. “We’ll see you both in the morning.”

We said goodnight to our group and they sauntered away. I turned towards my boy and took his cheek in my hand. “Come on, Frankie; let’s go properly celebrate our engagement.”

Frankie

Shawn held my hand tightly as he led me through the train cars to our sleeping quarters. My heart raced as we walked because I knew damn well we weren’t going in there to sleep; I was positive that my Master had naughty plans for us, and I wanted everything he had to give me.
