Rocco knew one thing for sure. He may have only known these guys for a few hours, but he was in good hands. They were a team. Sadie would be safe as long as they all had her back.

Now, he just needed to find the right time to tell her what he knew and what he planned to do about it. He dreaded that confrontation, but it wasn’t going to happen tonight. Tonight, he needed to open his computer and place an order for bedding, books, toys, dolls, games, coloring books, clothes, and whatever other accessories he could think of for a Little girl’s playroom. He doubted there was overnight delivery in the middle of New Zealand, but maybe the local shops in town had most of what he needed. He could place an order with them and go pick up everything he needed sometime tomorrow.

Chapter Ten

When her alarm went off the next morning, Sadie groaned as she stretched under her sheets. She was so not a morning person. Dragging herself from the welcoming bed, she jumped in the shower to try to wake up. Leaving the warm water for the cool air filling the bathroom was another tough task.

By the time she finished dressing, it was too late to make something for breakfast. Figuring she’d have an early lunch, Sadie headed downstairs to open the door for the workmen. She’d been a bit hesitant in letting everyone in without IDs or a list of who should be there, but all the workers had focused on their jobs, and she’d had no hint they weren’t who they said they were.

Catching herself looking around for one handsome man, Sadie admonished herself. Maybe he’d changed his mind. I never thought I could become someone’s Little so fast. It’s just… “Ridiculous.”

“What’s ridiculous?” a familiar voice asked from behind her.

“Rocco. Wow! What happened?” she asked, looking at his battered form. Small patches of dirt were scattered over him, and one large swoosh decorated his handsome face.

“Just planting some anchors in the rock cliff to create a pathway for climbers.” He looked down at the dirt ground into his T-shirt and grimaced before trying to brush it out. “It looks like I brought half the mountain back with me.”

“Oh! Look at your hand!” Sadie grabbed a bunch of tissues and patted them to the slice on his hand.

“Whoa, Little girl. Don’t clean up anyone’s blood without gloves. What if I had some horrible disease that’s spread through bodily fluids?”

She continued her efforts to clean him up. “You don’t.”

“You don’t know that.”

Sadie lifted her hand away from the wound. “Okay, you tell me. Do you have something that I can catch?”

“No, I tested clean before I came,” he stated with a shrug. “I think it’s better. Thanks for mopping me up.” Looking around, he asked, “Do you have any bandages here?”

“I should.” Turning to look for the first-aid kit she knew she’d inventoried just yesterday, Sadie spied it under a stack of forms. After pulling it out, she opened the top and found two small packets. “Looks like whoever stocked this kit thought kids would be the ones getting hurt. What do you say? Lady bugs or Dinosaurs?”

“I think I’ll need both. Let me get this cleaned up first.” He turned and walked to the bathroom as Sadie attempted to play it cool and not look at his butt.

When he returned a few minutes later, she carefully placed the ladybugs behind the dinosaur, so it looked like they were chasing the mighty beast. Sadie tried not to giggle as she looked at it. His chuckle made her give up the battle. Their laughter blended together as his hand cupped her cheek.

“Thank you, Little girl.”

He gave her plenty of time to move away or protest, but Sadie didn’t move. She didn’t breathe. When his lips finally pressed against hers, she couldn’t stop her response. Tangling her fingers in handholds of his dusty T-shirt, she clung to him. When his kisses were too light, she slid her hands over his hard chest and wrapped her arms around his neck. She clung to his body, rising on her tiptoes to deepen the kiss.

His groan encouraged her to stroke her tongue over his as his flavor tantalized her. Daring to see how far she could push him, Sadie wiggled her body against his. There was no doubt he was attracted to her. She could feel his cock stiffening against her. When he shifted away, she tried to follow him.

“You are a temptress, Little one,” he said softly. “I want you just as much, but here is not the time or place.”

Sadie stiffened, remembering they were in the hotel's reception area where anyone could see them. She stepped back and looked down at the black dress she’d worn today. It was covered with the ground-in remnants of his mountain climb. Quickly, she strived to brush off the evidence of her move to seduce him.
