Chapter One

Dinah Evans gritted her teeth as she pulled her car up outside of the Evil Fallen Bratva MC clubhouse. She couldn’t help but feel nervous as this place had a bad reputation wherever she went. There were always stories to be told about who the men were and what they did. Rumors and gossip were a nasty thing, but it certainly didn’t stop anyone from talking.

“Come on, Raine, why did you have to come here? You know I don’t like this, and now I’m talking to myself.”

Her mother had always told her to face fear, not run away from it. The temptation to drive away was so strong, but instead, she grabbed her keys and cell phone, and climbed out of her car.

She wasn’t a quitter, nor was she someone who would leave her friend in the lurch like this, so she headed toward the main compound of the biker club, which quite frankly terrified her.

Not that she’d ever met one of the men. She might have styled a few of the women who came here, but again, she couldn’t be sure. Women liked to talk the talk, and she had no doubt women she worked on came to the club. Dinah just wasn’t one of them, nor did she ever want to be. Trouble wasn’t something she was looking for.

However, her mother would be so disappointed in her if she so much as ignored her friend’s plea to come and pick her up. Raine wasn’t exactly forthcoming on the phone, other than to give her location, and begged her to hurry. This is why she was arriving at a damn clubhouse with a set of curlers in her hair. Yep, that was exactly what she was doing, and rather than run away and cower, she squared her shoulders, took a deep breath, and decided to go for it.

There were several men and women on the front lawn. It looked like a fire had been lit in a metal can. There were a couple of them dotted around, and the music inside the clubhouse was so loud, it filtered outside.

She spotted a couple of women dancing provocatively, and she was pretty sure another couple were having sex out in the open. Again, she refused to judge—however people wanted to live their lives was up to them—but she wanted to grab her friend and leave.

Raine had asked her to go with her tonight, but she refused. She was not going to give up a night of pampering herself for this. She had her priorities, and also her reputation. Dinah knew she was slowly building a reputation as one of the finest hairdressers around, drawing men and women from far and wide. Also, she had become well-known on the prom circuit as well.

Young women traveled to her, not only to have her do their hair, but also their makeup. She mainly focused on hair, as she loved all the skills her mother had taught her. Makeup was just a side thing she enjoyed, and she did it very well, but hair brought her closer to her mother.

She got to the main door just as a couple of women stepped out. They took one look at her hair and pretty much spat beer out of their mouths, as they fell over one another laughing.

They could all laugh, but tomorrow she’d have gorgeous, natural-looking curls, without the heat damage, which was exactly what she was looking for. So they could suck it.

Besides, she didn’t have time to remove the curlers before her friend phoned and begged, sounding so desperate. She wasn’t a horrible friend.

Dinah had been told time and time again she was reliable, dependable, but also she was aware that Raine kind of treated her like a doormat. She accepted it to a certain extent, but this was getting tired very fast. The only reason she came was because she wanted her conscience to be clear. If she turned on the news and saw something bad had happened to Raine, she would never forgive herself.

So, she stepped through the doors and arrived at a new kind of hell.

Men and women were pretty much having an orgy. The lights were turned down low, but not so low that she couldn’t make out what they were doing. Her heart started to race, but not because of what she was seeing played out in front of her. This was a whole different kind of fear.

At twenty-five years old, she was still a virgin, but after what happened to her mother, she didn’t want to go out partying or finding out about boys. Nope, she wasn’t going to do that right now.

Whenever she thought about her mother, she struggled not to cry. So, she sucked up the tears and started to venture through the naked bodies, hoping to find her friend. Not everyone was naked, and not all of them were having sex, but it was close.
