“Keir won’t allow her to be out long, or he will be monitoring her.”

Right! I forget she’s the wife of a mafia boss.

“What do I wear?” I ask Joey still in a state of skeptical shock.

He smacks my ass before we get into the car and head home. As soon as we arrive, I go straight into our room to change into something nicer, throw my hair up, and put on some matte lipstick. When I walk out, Joey has my black heels in his hand dangling from his finger and he’s sitting on the edge of the bed. I lift a foot as he does up the strap of one and then does the same again with the second. His hand lingers on my jeans, and I wonder what he is thinking.

“Hello.”

I hear the word coming from the other room as I put my foot down and walk out, not sure what to say. These feelings between us are coming at me full force.

“Oh, there you are. Good, you’re ready. Let’s go before he finds me.” She walks up the stairs, grabs my hand, and starts pulling me. I look over my shoulder at Joey and give him a smile.

He stares at me as I leave with a sullen look on his face which instantly makes me worried.

“Does he not know you are out?” I ask.

We get into the Uber, which is waiting out front for us. I don’t say anything. It’s obvious if we are using an Uber that Kier knows nothing about this. Otherwise, there would be a driver and bodyguards. The thought that something could happen pops into my mind, but it’s quickly gone again when Sailor starts talking.

“I snuck out. You need a hen’s night. Let’s pretend this is it.”

“Just us two?” I ask.

“Yep, Chanel is with Lucas, and if I invite her, I know he will come.” She rolls her eyes.

“Okay, so just us two.” I know I am not really conversing all that well, after all, I just lost the single most important possession I have, and I am still in shock. Being dragged out for a girls’ night is not something I am sure I am up for right now.

“Bingo.” She smirks before she reaches for something between her breasts and pulls out a small flask opening and sculling some of the contents and then she passes it to me. “Drink up! Tonight we get wasted and then we can go back and fuck them savagely.”

“Sounds like a plan.” I laugh at her.

Becca slips into my mind, and I wonder again what she wanted. I need to contact her and figure it out, but right now, I try not to think about Becca and what it is she wants.

When we arrive at the club, it’s packed, but Sailor skips the line and is let in.

We drink a lot.

I check the time—it's only been an hour.

We haven’t stopped dancing, moving, and drinking for that hour. And even better, Keir hasn’t come to collect her. Yet.

Pulling out my phone, I text him.

Joey

Joey

I see the bubbles through blurry eyes as he messages back.

Yes, Adora.

I hate the smile on my face that he somehow always manages to pull from me.

I would very much like to fuck you right now. Maybe we can go back to the sex club and this time instead of watching me you can join in on the fun?

He types, then stops. Then types again.

Are you drunk?

Just a little.

Stay where you are, I’m coming for you.

I like it when you boss me around. Shall I call you master as well?

Darling…

Tell me I’m your good little slut again.

Darling, I would stop saying that.

Or what?

Or I may very well bend you over my knee and spank that ass.

Oh, I very much like the sound of that…

“I need air,” I tell Sailor, sliding my phone into my pocket. The alcohol has gone to my head. I’m drunk, and I feel if I don’t get air, I may very well be physically ill.

All over this dance floor.

In my pretty heels that my husband put on me.

Aww, my husband.

Maybe I will treat him to some fun.

Seems I like him after all.

“I’ll be back.” She only nods and keeps on dancing. I go to exit out the front door until a man in all black, who must be security, points to another door. I walk toward it and as I do, he follows opening the door.

“Thanks.” I think I say it as the cold air hits me, and then instant relief takes hold. With a deep breath, I see stairs which lead to… fuck, I got no idea. I spin back and behind me is the door back to the club which is being blocked by the security guard. “Thanks again, just needed some air.” He doesn’t say anything, his eyes, though, they hover on me, and even being drunk, I know I don’t want his gaze. “I’ll go back inside now.”
