I spat in my hand and wrapped it around my cock, jerking myself off. When he bent closer, his lips taking mine again, his tongue pushing into my mouth, I lost it. I cried out into the kiss, my balls tight as I shot my load all over my chest and stomach.

Dane’s body tensed above me as he rode out his orgasm, then dropped down on top of me. He rained kisses across my collarbone and neck as I touched his hair. It was…simple in some ways, but so damn intimate. Almost more intimate than sex.

“I’m…I’m glad you’re here,” he said softly, without looking at me. “God, I can’t believe I admitted that.”

I couldn’t either, but I was glad too. “Well…it’s me. I’m sort of awesome.”

“Now I don’t like you again,” he teased.

“Shut up. You always liked me.”

Dane didn’t argue. We cleaned up, got rid of the condom, and I climbed back into his bed. He killed the lights and joined me, pulling me close, and I might have fallen asleep with a smile on my face.

It was the week of Halloween, which meant this weekend at the Playground would be pure insanity. Gays loved to dress up, and we did it well, I’d give us that. Except…I sort of hated it because I wasn’t any good at it. But I did my best, coordinating with Laura and Andy our swashbuckling pirate outfits, which Andy ordered from the local costume shop.

Our swords kept clanking together—there was a joke in there somewhere—and the mustache was itching the crap out of my lip. But when Jesse spotted me in the dressing room, compared me to Johnny Depp’s character in the cult-favorite pirate movie, and gave me a little growl, I blushed and tried to get my dick to calm down.

Christ, Jesse had me by the balls. And the night he’d slept over, the way he’d looked at me during sex like I’d rocked his world, had totally messed with my brain. I liked Jesse, really liked Jesse, and was afraid I was getting in over my head.

He was so casual about what we were doing, and I had never been that guy, so I didn’t know why I was allowing myself to fall deeper, but I was, knowing I’d probably be the one hurt in this scenario. And then there was another factor—we worked together. If this went south between us, I still had to face him, and I totally needed this job.

Hopefully Chet would look kindly on the situation and allow us to stop dancing together after it ended. Or maybe I was wrong about everything. Maybe I would tire of Jesse first. Except so far, I couldn’t get enough of his body, and his laugh, and his…well, his everything. He had broken down my defenses, and damn, I was definitely in trouble.

So when Jesse finally made an appearance to dance beside Skyler on the riser and was dressed very obviously like a damsel in distress from the same pirate movie franchise? Mind. Blown. I couldn’t stop my mouth from dropping open as I took in his light-blue dress, the cleavage from an obvious corset peeking through the top of the fabric, the blond ringlets and red lips. Christ, I wanted to hop over the bar and drag him to the break room like a savage Jack Sparrow. I’d tie him to a post and fuck him senseless. I shut my eyes and thrust the ridiculous fantasy from my brain.

He’d obviously asked someone what our theme was—I didn’t remember us ever discussing it—and he knew he’d bowled me over because his laugh was so telling as he raunchily lifted up his skirt and danced seductively. The combat boots hidden underneath the dress were quite a juxtaposition, and the white garter at the top of his thigh was clearly meant to tease the crowd—and me, in turn. And it was absolutely working.

Jesse was hoping to put on one hell of a show during our dance tonight, and as I shook my head and smirked, Laura nudged me, reaching for the rack of clean glasses.

“Oh my God, that costume is perfect,” she said, motioning toward Jesse.

“Traitor,” I muttered, knowing Jesse most likely probed her for ideas.

“He asked what we were wearing,” she replied with a shrug. “Didn’t think it was a secret. It’s definitely cute.”

“Yeah, guess it is,” I conceded.

I thought back to our text conversation last night, where he never once gave himself away.

What are you guys doing for Halloween?

My friend Craig is coming over with his son, and we’re going to take the kids out together.

What did Hailey decide to be?

A princess, of course. Maybe Elsa? I think that’s what Bree told me.

Oooh, let me know if she needs me to do her makeup.

I’m sure she’d love it. You’re more than welcome to join us.
