Dev gasped at the words and promptly obliged. “Fuck,” he hissed, cock pulsing in Ewan’s grip.

“Yeah.” Ewan jerked him through it until Dev was done, and then he pulled Dev’s head down with his clean hand so they could kiss again.

When they finally separated, Ewan said, “That was hot. But now I need a tissue, or maybe several.”

Dev chuckled and leaned to reach the box by the bed. “Here you go.”

He took a tissue for himself too, although Ewan had ended up with most of their mess on him.

Ewan grinned. “I guess you can tick frottage off your list, then.”

“I think so. It was a lot more fun than I was expecting.”

Once they’d mopped up a little, they lay back down together, and Dev tried to ignore all the questions in his head while Ewan held him and kissed him some more.

Was that all part of what he was supposed to be learning? Did the physical affection Ewan showed him after they’d had sex mean something?

Dev wasn’t brave enough to ask.

Finally, Ewan pulled away, and he sounded reluctant as he said, “I guess I’d better go. It’s getting late.”

He got up and started dressing.

Part of Dev wanted to invite him to stay. But it would be so awkward if Ewan said no that he didn’t dare risk it. Ewan wasn’t his boyfriend, so he probably wouldn’t want to sleep in Dev’s bed.

Dev sat up and retrieved his own clothes. It was weird being naked around Ewan now they weren’t touching anymore.

“How about we get together on Sunday?” Ewan asked. “Text me and let me know what you want to try making.”

Dev frowned as he pulled on his T-shirt, confused.

Making what?

Next on the list was fingering. But they wouldn’t be doing that till next weekend.

“To eat,” Ewan added. “Remember? I’m going to teach you to cook. Find a recipe and send me a link tomorrow. I’ll get the ingredients, because I need to go shopping anyway.”

“Okay.” Dev felt a warm bubble of excitement at the thought of getting to spend more time with Ewan so soon, even if it was to learn cookery rather than sex tips. It was nice to think Ewan was becoming a friend. Dev could use more of those after his unfortunate start to his university life. He hoped that even when his and Ewan’s arrangement was over, the friendship might remain.

He stood and pulled his sweatpants back on, then his glasses before following Ewan to the bedroom door.

“You don’t need to see me out,” Ewan said.

“I want to,” Dev insisted.

It was the polite thing to do, plus it gave him a couple of extra minutes in Ewan’s company.

Downstairs, Ewan paused at the front door. “You can walk me home if you like.” He grinned.

Dev chuckled. “Very funny.”

“So, text me about ingredients tomorrow. And I’ll see you Sunday.”

“Okay.”

They stared at each other for an awkward moment, and then Ewan stepped closer and gave Dev a fleeting kiss on the cheek. “Bye, then.”

“Bye.”

Ewan let himself out, and Dev closed the door behind him with a smile on his face. How could a peck on the cheek set his heart racing almost as fast as Ewan’s mouth on his dick?

“Dev, is that you?” Jez’s voice called as Dev passed the half-open door to the living room.

“Yeah, what do you want?” Dev walked in.

Jez and Mac were on the sofa where he’d left them earlier, but now Dani was there too, stretched out on the other sofa with her feet up. Jez and Mac had finished gaming. The TV was on instead, showing an old episode of Friends.

“Had fun studying, did you?” Dani’s voice was teasing, but her expression was kind, not mean.

Dev still tensed and blushed anyway. “Um. Yeah, it was fine.”

“It sounded a lot more enjoyable than my usual study sessions.” She grinned and Dev’s face got even hotter. He tried and failed to come up with an appropriate response, but she saved him. “Stop freaking out, Dev. It’s cool. Good for you—Ewan seems nice.”

“And now Mac owes me a tenner,” Jez said.

“Fuck you, I do not.” Mac knocked his knee into Jez’s. “I didn’t take that bet because I thought they were hooking up too. It was obvious there was something going on, they were looking at each other all gooey-eyed earlier. So, are you guys dating, or what?”

“No!” Dev said quickly. “No, it’s not like that. Nothing serious. It’s just….” He wasn’t sure how to describe it.

“Friends with benefits?” Jez suggested.

“Yeah, I guess.”

Jez looked sceptical. “Right. But you want more.”

Do I?

Dev wasn’t sure what he wanted. “I haven’t really thought about it.” He squirmed at the lie, because he’d actually thought about it quite a lot, but it hadn’t helped him work out his feelings. Anyway, Ewan wasn’t looking for a boyfriend. He was only doing Dev a favour. Once the lessons were over, the arrangement would end, so it didn’t matter what Dev did or didn’t want.
