“As for the question of chemistry….” Dev let his gaze drop to the bulge in Ewan’s sweatpants, which hid nothing. Dev reached down and adjusted his own dick. “I don’t think that’s going to be a problem.”

Ewan grinned. “Nope. You gonna go and jerk off now?”

Dev’s face flamed, but he grinned back. “Yes.”

“Me too.”

“God. Okay, I’m really going now.”

“I would see you out, but—” Ewan gestured to his cock, which was trying to drill through the fabric.

“Yeah. No worries. Okay, bye Ewan. See you soon.”

“Bye, Dev.”

As soon as the door shut behind Dev, Ewan had his hand in his pants stroking his dick. He threw himself down on his bed, arching up into his fist. It only took a few minutes before he was groaning and coming all over his hand and stomach as he imagined Dev on the other side of the wall doing the exact same thing.

“Holy shit,” Ewan muttered weakly when his brain started to function again.

Next weekend couldn’t come fast enough.

CHAPTER FIVE

Dev phoned Student Health Services on Monday afternoon to make appointments for himself and Ewan.

“It’s for me and… a friend,” he explained.

“That’s fine,” the woman on the end of the phone said cheerfully. “We can see you one after the other if you come in at 4:30 on Wednesday. Can I take your names?”

Awkward. Dev didn’t know Ewan’s surname. “Mine’s Devrim Karadere.” He spelled it out for her. “And he’s called Ewan. Um… I don’t actually know his second name.”

The confession didn’t seem to faze her. “No problem. So we’ll see you and Ewan on Wednesday at four thirty, then. Okay?”

“Okay, bye.”

Dev ended the call, his heart beating fast. He didn’t like making phone calls at the best of times, and that had been a particularly nerve-racking one. Necessary, though. He was determined to do it right.

Next he texted Ewan.

We have appointments at Student Health on Weds at 4.30 for STI testing. Is that time okay for you?

He pressed Send before he remembered Ewan didn’t have his contact details yet. So he sent another message. This is Dev, by the way, in case that wasn’t obvious.

Ewan didn’t reply for a while, and Dev started to get nervous. Maybe he was having second thoughts? Dev was trying to study, but he was unusually distracted, his normal ability to hyperfocus shattered by memories of kissing Ewan yesterday. It had been the best thing Dev ever felt, a perfect blend of nerves and excitement that exploded into bliss when he gave himself up to the sensations of Ewan’s lips and the scratch of his stubble. When he got back to his room afterwards, he wanked twice just thinking about it. The first time had been a biological necessity, but the second time, Dev had indulged himself in a wonderful blend of recollection and fantasy.

If it felt so good to kiss Ewan, what on earth would it be like when they took things further?

The chime of his phone made Dev jump. He was hard and his hand was on the bulge in his jeans. He snatched it away to read the message.

I worked out it was you by a process of elimination. You’re the only dude I’ve arranged to go on an STI testing date with this week ;) And yes half four on Weds is fine.

Dev was relieved the wink emoticon was there to make the tone clear. The word date gave him a little thrill, even though Ewan was joking.

Good, he replied, knowing it was a pathetically weak attempt to keep the conversation going.

Text conversations weren’t Dev’s strong point. Socially awkward at the best of times, at least face-to-face he had more to go on if he remembered to pay attention to the visual cues. But he couldn’t turn up on Ewan’s doorstep to talk. They didn’t have that kind of friendship… not yet. So it had to be text or nothing.

Ewan texted back.

I have a lecture on campus that finishes at 4, so I’ll meet you there.

Okay, Dev typed. Then feeling brave, he added more.

Maybe we could go for a coffee or something afterwards?

Dev didn’t actually drink coffee—he thought it was bitter and gross—but meeting someone for coffee was one of those things people didn’t mean literally.

Ewan’s reply was almost immediate. That sounds great :)

Dev frowned at his phone, trying to work out whether it felt like the end of the conversation or not. There wasn’t a question, so maybe it would be too pushy to text back again.

God, never mind learning about sex acts, he needed a rulebook for social interaction. He’d looked up plenty of those online as a younger teenager, when he’d realised that stuff didn’t come naturally to him. He managed fine most of the time these days, and the Internet was a good source of self-help.

He was about to let it go and put his phone down, when another message flashed up.
