Ewan’s concentration wasn’t the best. Dev’s proximity, the brush of their elbows, the way he tapped his slim fingers on the desk when he was concentrating, and the just-perceptible scent of his skin and hair drove Ewan crazy. All of those things tugged at the edges of his consciousness to drag his mind away from facts and figures and back to a persistent fantasy of throwing Dev down on the desk and sucking his considerable brains out through his dick.

Finally, when Dev had fixed Ewan’s mistakes and made sure he understood what he still needed to do in order to finish, Dev leaned back in his chair. “So, are you okay now? You should have everything you need to get this done tonight.”

Ewan put his pen down and sighed. He was tired, but way less stressed about the assignment now. “Yeah. Thank you so much.”

“If you get stuck again, you know where I am.”

“I think I’ll be fine. You’re an awesome teacher.”

Dev gave a small shy smile. “Thanks. I often used to help friends at school, so I’m used to doing it.”

“Dumbing things down for us lesser mortals?” Ewan grinned.

Dev’s smile widened. “Yeah, well. You’ll be returning the favour soon enough.”

Just like that, the electric tension was back. They stared at each other, and Ewan could feel each thud of his heart.

“Okay, I’m going to go.” Dev broke eye contact and pushed his chair back so he could stand. “I’ll text you about the appointments.”

“Right.” Ewan’s gaze fell to the list, still open on his desk, where he’d pushed it aside while they worked. “Um, hang on.” He stood up too and moved so they were facing each other. “Do you think, maybe we should check… I mean. What if there’s no chemistry between us? Do we really want to get tested and then wait till next weekend to find out if this is going to work? Wouldn’t it be better to be sure?”

“Maybe.” The corners of Dev’s mouth tugged down. “But—”

“I’m sure it will be fine,” Ewan rushed to reassure him. “But I thought perhaps….” He swallowed. “We could try the first thing on the list now, just to see. There’s no need to be tested for kissing. We can’t catch anything that way.”

Dev frowned. “Well… unless one of us has a cold. But I feel pretty healthy, and you seem okay too. There’s glandular fever, of course. That can be transmitted by kissing, but I had that when I was fifteen, and it’s rare to get it twice—”

Ewan put a finger on Dev’s lips. “Stop talking, Dev. I want to kiss you. Can I?”

Dev froze, dark eyes wide, lips softly parted against Ewan’s fingertip. He nodded, a tiny jerk of his head.

“Have you ever kissed anyone before?” Ewan asked.

That time Dev’s head moved from side to side. A definite no.

“Not even a girl?”

Dev shook again.

“How is that possible?” Ewan couldn’t imagine his teenage years without messy, fumbling kisses. With girls, and then eventually with boys—or one boy in particular. But teen years were all about snogging, and boasting about snogging, and pretending you’d snogged someone even if you hadn’t.

Dev opened his mouth to answer, but knowing Dev, the explanation would be overly detailed, and Ewan had meant it as a rhetorical question anyway. Ewan was done talking. “Never mind.” He moved his hand to cup Dev’s jaw.

Dev’s lips stayed parted, and he swallowed, his Adam’s apple bobbing in his slender neck. The faintest trace of stubble rasped Ewan’s palm, a sexy reminder of Dev’s masculinity despite his doe eyes and soft lips that a supermodel—male or female—would envy.

Ewan was a couple of inches taller, so he had to tilt his head down to reach Dev’s lips. He brushed them lightly with his own, pressing soft, closed-mouth kisses there until Dev brought his hands up and settled them on Ewan’s waist, moving closer, giving himself up to the kiss.

They parted their lips and tried to deepen it, noses bumping when they both tilted the same way. Ewan used both hands on Dev’s face now, guiding him. As first kisses went it was predictably far from perfect. Not enough tongue at first, and then a little too much as Dev got overeager. But there was a sweet intensity to it, too, that surged through Ewan from his scalp to his toes.

Dev made a small broken sound, pulling Ewan closer by his hips, and Dev was as hard as Ewan was, and suddenly nothing else in the world mattered other than where their bodies connected: lips melding, hands clutching each other, cocks pressed together.

Dev finally pulled away, suddenly, as though in shock. He wiped his mouth with the back of his hand and stared at Ewan, breathing hard. “I… uh…. I should go.”

“Yeah.” Ewan blinked, a little dazed. It was probably for the best if they stopped, unless Dev wanted to tick off more things on his list today.
