“What do we do until then?”

“Stuff,” I shrug. “Go work out. Watch TV. I don’t know.”

After all, what does Jordan want me to say? I don’t have a minute to minute breakdown of what to do until we meet up with Mira again. I’m still reeling from the fact that right before our Sunday service, Jordan and I slept with one of our congregants, doing her double. God, what a shitshow.

“Okay, I get it,” my co-pastor grunts. “I’ll find something to do until we meet up with Mira. Fine.”

I shake my head because Jordan is ridiculous. He’s my best bud, but he can honestly be a pain in the ass. He’s honestly behaving like a little boy, which is completely uncalled for seeing what we just did in my office.

“Okay. I’ll make sure to let you know when I’m making this phone call, so we can take care of it together.”

Jordan gives me a little salute and then stalks off to his office. We have a couple of hours before we need to get ready for our 3 p.m. afternoon service. I’ll be giving the sermon again because it’s my day to perform and I should really be reviewing my notes in preparation. But it seems impossible, seeing what’s going on with Mira right now. After all, our lost little lamb is out there somewhere, probably confused and afraid. I want nothing but to talk with her, but is she ready to hear our words?

Mira

I leave the church thinking that I’ll just circle the block a couple of times. My mind felt so muddled being cooped up in that office, and some fresh air would really do me some good.

Walking in this neighborhood, I see a few things I haven’t seen before. There’s a corner bodega, a pizza shop, and a whole bunch of cafes. It’s one of the things I love about New York. It’s a large city where a lot can get lost, but if you take the time to look around, you’ll come across some cool treasures.

I keep walking because it feels so nice to be outside. The breeze ruffles my hair and I smile at the world in general. There’s so much to see, and I’m enjoying the slow Sunday hum.

I’m so caught up in walking that I keep getting further and further away from the church. I don’t realize it until I walk all the way back to my own neighborhood and start recognizing the surrounding area. What the hell? This isn’t what I meant to do, and I’m so confused as to how I got myself here. I mean, clearly, I walked, but I must have walked a long ways.

“Oh, shoot.”

I’m looking up at my building, knowing I may as well go inside. After all, I’m far away enough from the church that it’s not worth going back. I mean, I could, but it would take some time, even with the subway ride. MTA is notoriously unreliable on weekends.

Plus, I’m feeling a little sweaty after that long walk. I must have gone at least thirty blocks, all with no panties. How did that happen? There’s a breeze wafting between my thighs but getting into some air conditioning would be nice.

I head upstairs and find our apartment empty. I’m sure Jessie’s still down at the church, probably praying with her hands clasped while discreetly looking for me. We’ve been getting closer to a few people there, but no one’s really a friend yet. I should shoot her a quick text to let her know I’m okay. I hope she isn’t too worried about me.

I feel bad that lately, I’ve been keeping so much from Jessie. I need to have a sit down and talk to her about stuff because she’s my best friend and probably the only person I can talk to about all this. Then again, maybe I should get all my stuff sorted beforehand because my tale is pretty mind-blowing, to be sure.

Hey girl. My errands took longer than usual because it involves both of our hunky pastors. Yes both. In ways you wouldn’t imagine. Toodle-oo!

But at the same time, Jessie not being here is kind of nice. I love her to death but having some solitude is soothing, especially given the cacophony of the city. I can get myself all cleaned up, take a shower, and put on some clean panties while calming my mind.

My friend probably won’t be back for a few hours so with leisurely steps, I go to the bathroom and disrobe. After my clothes drop to the floor, I see the marks the two of them made all over my body. There are some showing up from yesterday, and a few from today. The imprints of Jason’s fingers are on my hips, and the nips Jordan took at the skin of my neck are slightly inflamed. I rub my hand over them, smiling a secret smile.
