Gossip and good stories went through the company fast, so Emerson nodded, connecting the dots. “He looks just as happy and sexy as Wesley said he was.”

That had all of us giggling and I leaned back against the couch, sighing. “Yeah, he was really nice. He mentioned wanting to have lunch or something soon. He’s going to call me tomorrow. So maybe I’ll drag a few other guys along so he can meet more people?”

“You know…” Lane’s voice trailed off softly as he blushed. “I mean, if you have a lunch where it’s just the two of you, it might be more…romantic?”

Emerson snorted. “Coming from the guy who stalked his boyfriend, that’s not what I think you meant to say.”

Groaning, Lane frowned, stole his drink back, and helped himself to the wonderfully slushy contents. “I just made sure I was at the coffee shop when he took lunch. Stalking is walking by his work a thousand times a day or figuring out where he lived and being weird.”

Maybe.

“I’m not sure Bishop was looking for romance, though.” Sure, he’d been smiling and happy and once in a while something would twinkle in his eyes, but it wasn’t an I’m going to be your Dom look.

“You never know about that kind of stuff.” Emerson sighed, looking longingly at our drinks. “The right guy just might pop up at a surprise engagement party or a weird business meeting.”

Probably not…at least the engagement party one.

But the business meeting?

That was entirely possible as long as Emerson got a little bit of a push.

“Come on.” I managed to stand and look very stable, so I knew it was time for more slushies. “You need a drink and we need to hear more about your sexy sewing Dom.”

That had everyone giggling again and Lane nodded eagerly. “I bet he’s very creative.”

I wasn’t sure if Lane meant it in a dirty way or not, but Emerson and I certainly heard it that way because we started laughing so hard I had to sit down on the couch. When we could finally breathe, Lane connected the dots and blushed. “I didn’t mean that.”

We did.

“Any guy who’s into corsets and wants a living sex doll to pose had to be kinky, right?” I glanced between the two guys, who were both now shrugging.

I’d been aiming for light and teasing, but Emerson pouted and teased back. “Any guy who spends half the night talking to a little and smiling at him like he’s the cutest thing since sliced bread has to be at least a switch, right?”

We were both totally screwed.

Bishop was always going to be a sub and scary sewing Dom was going to end up being straight.

Chapter 6

Cohen

This was definitely the least logical way I’d ever gone about trying to date someone, but I wasn’t sure there’d been a better path.

There had to have been a more romantic one, though.

So as I pulled up in front of the house with Bishop parking behind me, I decided to shift gears. He might need to show me his pup side before we went too far, but that didn’t mean we had to rush to get there.

I had a basic plan in place by the time I got out of the car and a more complete one as he finally climbed out of his and brought the duffel bag with the mysterious contents up to the door. He looked sheepish or maybe nervous, so I did my best to look relaxed as I raised one eyebrow. “Are you okay?”

I wasn’t going to push if he’d changed his mind.

“I’m fine, but I’m stupid.” He sighed, blushing sweetly. “I forgot my phone at Wesley’s house. Could I send him a quick text from yours and let him know? I don’t want him to worry.”

Ah.

That explained the blush.

“No problem. Come on in and we’ll do that before we forget.” Or before it got to be too late, and we pissed him off.

Handing over my phone, I let us in and smiled as Bishop chuckled at whatever response he’d gotten back from Wesley. The man seemed shy to me, but clearly with Bishop that wasn’t the case.

When he finally gave it back, he was grinning and blushing again. “Please just ignore whatever nonsense Wesley says in the future.”

I laughed as I locked the door and led him deeper into the house toward the living room at the back. “He’s not going to say anything to me. I bet he’s already panicking that he texted something cheeky to my number.”

Bishop laughed, shaking his head. “You really do know most of the guys.”

Shrugging, I nodded as we slowly made our way through the house, turning on just enough lights to make sure he could see. “Yes, but I try not to bother anyone. I just do my best to keep up so I understand what’s going on with the business.”
