Her words make me want to preen like an avian male. Ever since we've cemented our relationship, Ruthie has grown possessive of me. And kef me, but I love it. I love that she finds me so worthwhile, so prized that she feels the other women in town will want me. "I did not see anyone looking in this direction."

"Okay," she grumbles, and her hand slides to my waist, then to my backside. "But if I have to fight for you, I'm gonna fight dirty to make sure I win."

I laugh, because no one is going to fight over an a'ani male, but my heart warms that she thinks I'm that priceless. It is an incredible feeling, one I didn't realize I needed. I love Ruthie's covetousness regarding me.

The last two weeks have been incredible. Living on the ship with Ruthie at my side has always been wonderful, but now that we're together in all ways, I am overwhelmed with happiness. I'm not sure how much one heart can take, but mine is constantly brimming with joy. I love waking up with Ruthie curled against me. I love sharing a shower with her. I love our nights together, of course, but everything is just slightly better now that we're physical. Like when we play sticks with the others, Ruthie slips her shoe off and plays with my leg under the table, just because. Or how she brings me my lunch so we can eat together. How when we sit on the couch in the rec room, she sits in my lap instead of at my side and kisses me in front of the others. It's her eating noodles in the mess hall and giving me a sly look as I get a very large erection that we have to return to our quarters to take care of.

(We change our safe word to “corny” after that.)

It's that extra level of our relationship that's everything I ever wanted. I'm glad she's finally ready to claim me as her own.

We end up staying in Ruthie's room for the rest of her “week” away from the ship. It's two days of endless lovemaking and cuddling, and me giving her as many orgasms as possible. Ruthie also likes to watch me touch myself, and I don't mind performing for such an attentive audience, especially when she offers to sit on my face as I jerk off. She's amazing. I knew being with her would be incredible, but every day surpasses my expectations. We even use the coin a few times, but mostly to choose between two equally amazing positions.

The rest of the crew isn't surprised at all to find that we're together. Dopekh hugs us, but he seems a little sad, even as he reassures us both that he's happy. Maybe he's still hung up on Lord Straik. Or someone else in the crew. It's hard to tell with Dopekh. He's always falling in love only for it to never pan out for him. Ruth and Lord Straik are delighted for us, offering to reshuffle cabins on the ship to ensure we can have the biggest quarters since we're now together, but Ruthie declines. She likes our current quarters...and then lets her sister know that we'll be staying on Risda III when the ship leaves.

I think Ruthie expects Ruth to be upset, but Ruth just hugs her and tells her that she's proud.

It's been the best two weeks of my life, and I'm looking forward to the future and what it'll bring. But for now, we have to help Erzah with his cantina business.

We pause in front of the building, eyeing the dirty windows and the location. It's next to an airsled repair shop, which doesn't seem as if it'll drive much traffic this way, and the exterior of the place looks...unexciting. I keep my reservations to myself, though. It's not my dream—it's Erzah's. My dream has piercings and short hair and touches my arm with delicate fingers.

"You think he'll be able to make this into a success?" Ruthie asks.

I consider this. If it was Jerzec, I'd say no. He's too impatient. Dopekh, also no. He's too tender-hearted. Aithar's too innocent. Sakkar would never want a cantina because it would involve too many people. Zaemen is a maybe, but he'd probably get distracted and forget to charge his customers.

Erzah's harder to pin down. He's never been much of a leader, but he's tenacious. When he gets an idea in his head, he won't let it go, even if it's a bad idea. He digs in his feet, sets his jaw, and attacks it. I grunt. "You know, out of all of us, I think Erzah could do it. He's got one major downside, though."

"Oh?" Ruthie glances up at me. "What's that?"

"He's got the rest of us helping him."
