I glanced his way with an apologetic look.

He leaned closer to me and placed his mouth against my ear, so only I would hear him. “Are you trying to get me to come in my pants? Because if you keep inching closer to my cock, I’m going to do just that.”

My mouth dropped open, and I managed to whisper, “No.”

“Then stop. I already want to be inside you, sweetheart. Keep this up, and I’ll be doing it in the restroom of this restaurant.”

I sucked in a breath of air. The idea both shocked and thrilled me. I was almost tempted to tell him to meet me in the women’s bathroom.

Who is this risk-taker Brock Shaw has brought out?

He kissed my cheek and kept his hand over mine.

It was then I noticed the blonde again. This time, she was glaring at me.

Is she someone Brock slept with in the past?

I wasn’t stupid, and I knew he’d most likely slept with a number of women on the tour. Even though he’d said he wasn’t a man-whore, it didn’t mean he hadn’t slept around. If I was going to be with this man, I needed to realize I might run into women who may have shared something with Brock in the past.

I noticed Stella and Ty Senior standing.

“Are y’all leaving?” I asked.

Stella nodded. “Yes, we’re going to get Blayze back to the hotel. The little guy is ready to pass out.”

Peeking around Brock, I giggled. Blayze had his head in his hands, groaning about something.

Brock stood, picked up Blayze, and gave him a hug and kiss. He whispered something into his ear that made the little boy light up.

When he set him down, Blayze made his way over to me. He threw himself into my arms, and I hugged him.

“Good night, sweet boy,” I said against his head, and then kissed him on the cheek.

“Night, Miss Lincoln.”

He made his way around the table to the people whom he knew, which was pretty much everyone. It was almost like young Blayze Shaw was working the table, as if to say, I’m going to be the next bull rider in this family, and you’ll be able to say that you knew me when. The thought made my stomach ache at the idea of him being hurt.

After Stella, Ty Senior, and Blayze had left, other people began to excuse themselves. Charles picked up the tab for dinner and told Brock he had done a good job before reminding him of the autograph session he had tomorrow.

I turned to ask Kaylee what her plans were, but she was lost in conversation with Dirk. It didn’t appear to be a serious conversation, but she wore a slight smile.

The idea of Kaylee moving here still made me so happy. I knew if she were to stay in Atlanta, we would both feel like two lost souls. She was fitting in so well with Brock’s family and friends.

Ty joined in their conversation, and I had to chuckle when I realized they were arguing about which was the best Disney movie. Only Kaylee could get two rough-and-tumble cowboys to talk about Disney movies.

Laughing, I turned my attention away from them. It was then that the blonde who had been staring at Brock stood. She approached Ty and started talking to him as Dirk also stood and announced he was turning in for the night. And Ty was quick to follow, with Kaylee doing the same. The blonde disappeared from the table, and, for some reason, I breathed a sigh of relief, and I had no idea why.

Brock stood next, but not before leaning down to say into my ear, “Let’s go . . . now.”

I nearly knocked my chair over from standing so quickly.

Lifting his brow, Brock smirked. “In a hurry?”

With a polite smile, I replied, “Slightly.”

“Thank you, Charles, for dinner. I’ll see you in the morning,” Brock said with a tip of his hat to the older gentleman.

“Yes, see you then, Shaw.”

Brock slipped his hand in mine and led me toward the exit. The blonde from earlier was standing outside, down a ways from us, waiting for her car to be brought up.

“Who is that?” I asked, motioning to her.

Brock looked her way and frowned slightly. “No one important.”

Okay then.

“She was staring at you almost through all of dinner. Do you know her well?”

I had no clue why I couldn’t let the subject go. It was clear that Brock didn’t want to talk about her.

“Yes.”

That piqued my interest, and I found myself needing to know if he’d had a relationship with her. But “Oh” was all I replied.

Brock turned me to face him. His hands came up and framed my face. “Not like that. She was Kaci’s best friend and hooked up with Ty off and on in high school; that’s all. She works for Charles now as his personal assistant.”
