“What do you want, Rem?”

“You.”

He growled out a curse, and then I was empty, so fucking empty. He lubed his cock. I rolled over, sort of on my side and my stomach, top leg bent. Law lay behind me, spread my ass cheeks, and ran his dick up and down my crease before landing on my hole.

I closed my eyes as he pushed in, stretching me, giving me that fullness I loved so damn much. His skin was hot, his chest against my back, his arm around me as he slowly worked his way in. When he had his cock buried fully in my ass, we both stilled, breathed out, and then he kissed my shoulder the way he used to.

“Fucking freckles,” he said, then pulled out and thrust deep. “Jesus, Rem. So good. So fucking good. It’s like my body remembers everything about yours.”

My breathing sped up, my vision blurry, the edges of panic and want there. Wishing the years apart weren’t our reality and that our future was more set in stone.

“Hey…slow down. You’re breathing too heavy. Are you okay?”

“I’m fine. Keep fucking me.”

He did as I said, kissing me, owning me, licking the sweat from my skin, telling me I was beautiful, kissing my freckles.

I spit in my hand before wrapping it around my cock and stroking. My body was on edge, my orgasm already breaking through when I wished we could be like this forever.

“Shit. I’m the quick trigger this time. I’m almost there,” Law said, our bodies slapping together.

“Me too. God, me too.”

He slammed into me harder, railed me in long strokes as he rubbed my chest and kissed my shoulders. I tightened my hold on my cock, sped up my movements, and then explosions went off inside me. My body tensed, and my cock spasmed as my world tilted and righted itself and I came all over my hand.

“Shit…I can’t hold back. Should I pull out?”

“No.” I reached my come-y hand behind me and held him close as Law thrust and his dick jerked, shooting hot and deep inside me. “Don’t pull out,” I said, and he nodded.

We lay there, spent, his cock inside me as long as it could stay. I felt him softening. His mouth was on my skin the whole time, licking and kissing, until he had no choice but to pull out.

We didn’t move, were quiet, for much too long, before he asked, “What are we gonna do, Remy?”

“I don’t know.” The only thing I did know was that I wouldn’t lose him again. I couldn’t. Not if he wanted me.

CHAPTER SIXTEEN

Lawson

I was surprised when Remy fell asleep not long later. He must have been exhausted. I was pretty sure he wasn’t sleeping well. He’d always been like that, except usually he would get lost in music half the night. I had no idea if that was still the case, since he said he’d had trouble writing.

Me, on the other hand, while I could fall asleep anywhere and everywhere at the drop of a hat, my eyes refused to close. And when they did, too many thoughts ran laps in my brain.

There wasn’t a flicker of shock inside me that we ended up right where we were. I could never stay away from him, even when it had been eating me up inside to be a secret. And I knew Remy loved me. He’d always loved me. My random jealousy of Brittany notwithstanding, I never truly doubted how he felt about me.

What I did doubt was the future. Despite being both pleased and surprised that he’d spoken to Steve—which was what pushed me over the edge tonight—my concerns were still there, a poison seeping into this moment, and all the ones before, and likely the ones that would come after.

Remy would always want music more than anything else, but I didn’t know if he would ever feel comfortable being an out musician. If he ever was and he lost his career over me, I’d never forgive myself. As if that wasn’t enough worry, there was his mom and his fear of telling her.

So yeah, sleep kept evading me tonight. I lay there for hours, my mind still making circles as I held him and kissed his shoulder and those fucking freckles I loved so damn much.

Around four thirty, I tried to slip out of bed without waking him, but Remy rolled over and rubbed his eyes. “You’re leaving?” he asked quietly.

“I need to open the restaurant. Why don’t you meet me at my house around three thirty? The guys’ll be there at four.”

“Yeah, okay.” He nodded, getting out of bed.

“Go back to sleep, Rem.”

“I’ll walk you to the door, then lie down again,” he said, but I knew he was up for the day.

I got dressed, and he pulled his sweats on before following me out to the living room. Bear looked up at me, having moved to the couch.
