Dropping the cigarette, I stomp it out with my boot. “If only I gave a fuck what you think.”
“Diamond,” Jackson’s voice has her turning as he strides towards us, ready for the ride. “Fuck off, we’re busy.”
She turns her attention onto Jackson. “I heard you and Muff like to share, what do you say, want to go for a quickie?”
Jackson stops in front of her, leaning down, his eyes flashing. “I’ll give you two seconds to fuck off, before I ban you from my club for good. You’re more trouble than you’re fuckin’ worth these days.”
Huffing, she turns and walks away, swinging her ass because she knows we’re watching.
“Fuckin’ glad I don’t have to deal with those bitches anymore,” I grunt. “Too much work.”
Jackson grunts in agreement. “I hear you. Let’s go.”
Sliding onto my bike, I start it. The loud purr fills my ears and brings a level of relief to my body, a kind of homely warmth. Being on the bike, being with this club, it’s the best thing I could have ever asked for. My life was good, until it wasn’t. Without Spike taking me in, I don’t know where I’d be now.
A past that I have long since buried, would be still haunting me.
“Muff,” Addison’s voice fills my ears as she appears in front of my bike, a big grin on her pretty face. “How’s it hangin’?”
I raise my brows. “Do you really want me to answer that, princess? Let’s just say, I like bein’ on my fuckin’ bike.”
She laughs. “You’re an animal. Lucky Janine. Speaking of Janine, have you seen her? I want to talk babies.”
“Might be at her mom’s.”
“How’s my little Max going?”
“Chubby, cries a lot, fuckin’ cute,” I smirk at her.
“He’s so damned cute. Now I know what you’d look like if you were fat and I’ll say, I’m here for it.”
Shaking my head, I chuckle. “I think I’ll stay like this, thanks.”
“Your loss,” She flicks her hair back. “Where’s Cade, I want to give him a goodbye kiss.”
“That what we’re callin’ it these days?”
Flashing me a smile, she turns and saunters off.
Addison is a high spirited, devil of a woman, but we fucking love her. She’s strong and she keeps everything in check. I wouldn’t want to double cross her, or do the wrong thing by her, because the woman would have a revenge plan that would bring most of us to our knees.
She’s our queen, in a sense, and she damn well knows it.
Yeah.
I fuckin’ love this place.
3 – Janine
MAX GIGGLES, HIS ADORABLE baby laugh filling the kitchen as Muff tickles his belly. My little boy is perfect in every way, and Muff loves being a dad. He loves everything that comes with it, and he’s good at it. He gets up to feed, he changes him, he helps in any way he can, and he does it with a smile. I would have a million children with him if I could.
But I have to respect my vagina a little more than that.
At least for now.
“Mommy,” Ebony says, coming up behind me and tapping my arm.
I smile down at her. “What’s up, honey?”
She frowns, her expression turning sad, and it breaks my heart. “There are some girls at school that tease me because I wear glasses.”
Ebony has just started wearing glasses because she was struggling to see, and I think she looks absolutely adorable in them, but I know kids can be mean, and it breaks my heart that these are lessons she has to learn so young. I wish I could wrap her up and keep her away from all the bad things in the world, but I know that’s just not something I can do.
Eventually, she will see it, and I want her to be strong enough to know how to handle it.
“Have you talked to your teacher?”
She shakes her head.
“We’ll talk to her when I take you into school, okay?”
She bites her lip, glancing at Muff who is staring over at her now, his eyes soft but ready to fight a war. “You want me to take you in, kiddo?”
Her cheeks flush, and she nods. “Mommy, do you mind if Muff takes me in? He’s much scarier than you.”
I laugh. “I’m not sure if I should take that as a compliment or not.”
Muff pushes to his feet, lifting Max into his arms. “Don’t you worry, princess,” he tells Ebony, “I’ll make sure nobody picks on you.”
“You’ll be nice though, won’t you,” I say, raising my brows which only earns me a grin.
He gives me a look that tells me he absolutely will not be. “Of course, why wouldn’t I be?”
I roll my eyes. “Because you’re a biker and bikers are known to be a little ... aggressive.”
He snorts. “You’re bein’ dramatic, Jaybird. Come on, Eb, let’s go and get you ready for school.”
