I jerked back, staring at him with wide eyes. “When?” I choked out.
He flashed me a sexy grin. “When,” he confirmed. Tingles erupted all over my body. He knew he wanted that big of a future with me? “You’re it for me, Ally. I’m not letting you go. One day, I’ll make you my fiancée, my wife, and the mother of my kids. I want you to be mine in every way that I can think of.”
My heart swelled at his words, my soul warming. He leaned forward and brushed his lips over mine. “Be my moon.”
I smiled up at him. He grinned. “So fucking perfect,” he breathed.
I stumbled out into the living room the next morning, rubbing the sleep from my eyes. I was still in Christian’s button-down shirt, and I didn’t have my leggings on.
I jerked in surprise, my cheeks tinting red when I saw Julian and Meghan sitting in the living room with Christian. “Sorry,” I squeaked before I ducked back into the bedroom, unintentionally slamming the door shut behind me.
I heard Julian bark out a laugh from the living room before Christian slipped into his room with me. He grabbed my leggings from the floor and handed them to me. My cheeks were flaming as I quickly snatched them from him, slipping them on.
“You’re so fucking cute when you’re embarrassed,” Christian said once my leggings were on. He pulled me into his arms, leaning down to kiss me. I pushed against his chest. He quickly pulled back from me with a frown on his perfect lips. “What?”
I covered my mouth with my hand. “Morning breath,” I told him.
“Woman,” he growled. He removed my hand and took my lips in a savage kiss. I moaned, losing myself in him, completely forgetting about my horrible morning breath.
He slowly released me, pecking my lips one more time before he stepped back from me with a sexy, panty-dropping smirk on his lips. “Go brush your teeth and your hair. Then, get your cute ass out in the living room. Meghan and Julian have come over to have breakfast with us.”
I frowned, my eyes nervously flickering to the bedroom door. Christian reached up and cupped the side of my neck, using his thumb to angle my head so I was looking up at him. “Neither of them are upset with you. They’re worried, yes, but they know you’re in good hands with me and that I’ll take care of you. They just want to have a light-hearted breakfast with you, and then in a little bit, once we’re both showered and dressed, perhaps we can all go out to the local flea market.” My eyes brightened. I loved going to the flea market. Christian grinned down at me. “There’s my moon,” he praised. “Go on, baby. I’ll be out in the living room.”
Christian held my hand in his as he carried on a conversation with Julian over football. He had to leave in a few days for the season. I knew Meghan was sad about it, but with Axel now having his own practice, and Holden and Lana being born, it wasn’t practical for them to travel with him like they used to.
“Oh, my God, Ally, look at these!” Meghan exclaimed as she held up a pair of earrings.
They were half-moons—black and simple—but they were so freaking cute. They weren’t dangle-y, either, which I preferred. I hated dangle-y earrings. I preferred simple earrings.
Christian pulled his wallet out of his back pocket. “What? Christian, no,” I protested, not wanting him to spend money on me. He was already helping me so much as it was.
“Keep your protests to yourself. I’m going to ignore them anyway,” he told me, handing over a ten-dollar bill to the lady working the booth.
I glared at him as he handed me the earrings. He only flashed me one of his perfect smiles, and my glare melted away instantly. I sighed in defeat. Christian leaned forward and gently kissed me. “They’ll look perfect on you, my moon. Now, come on.” He linked our fingers together and led me in the direction Julian and Meghan went.
“You’re a pain in my ass already,” I grumbled, but I couldn’t deny that the sweet action of buying me a pair of earrings had my soul melting at his feet.
He released a soft, husky laugh. “I can be,” he warned me as he looked down at me, his eyes darkening.
My breath hitched in my throat, my cheeks flaming. He leaned down and kissed me again. “Come on before I drag you out to my car.”
“That would get us arrested,” I hissed at him.
He barked out a laugh, making Julian and Meghan turn to look at us. I swear, my cheeks couldn’t get any redder. “It would definitely be worth it,” he teased as he flashed me one of his wicked grins.
