“I’m okay. I think since it was my first time, I am doing that de-virginized thing, you know?” He smiles and pulls me into his arms. I lay my head on his sweaty chest; it is easily the most comfortable spot I have ever been in.

“Thank you for that gift, baby. I hope I didn’t hurt you,” he whispers, kissing the top of my head.

“No. It was perfect. It was everything I hoped my first time would be.”

“That’s what I want to hear. I do have a question though.”

“Okay, ask away.”

“Well, how is it a bombshell like you made it twenty-three years still a virgin?” Ah. I should have known this was coming. I mean, it’s not that it’s a secret, just not something I like to talk about. But, if we are going to share something together, I have to open up to him.

“When my parents passed, it was the worst thing I have ever gone through. I was utterly alone and adrift for a while and I cut-off everyone I knew. The idea of holding on to any meaningful relationship was too scary in light of what happened, so I threw myself into school and work.” He begins rubbing my back, and it helps to calm the emotional storm brewing. “I swore to myself that I would stay safe. Guard my heart and not get involved because losing another person might kill me. So you see it was a strategy.”

Finally, done spilling my guts, I take a deep breath. I was unaware I was crying until I felt him wipe away the tears. He lifts me under his arms and puts me onto his lap. His face is serious and focused.

“June, I am here. I’m not going anywhere, at least no time soon. We have too much to do.” Smirking at him and falling more in love with him due to his attempt to ease my mind.

“Oh yeah and what’s that?” I begin rocking against his awakened cock, moaning.

“Exactly that.” For the next five hours, that is what we do, and it couldn't be more perfect.

“Hey, ladies.” I am meeting Hailie and May for lunch, and I am exhausted, thanks to Owen keeping me up last night as he has for the last nights since our first time.

“Hey yourself. You look terrible,” May says, mouth full of pickles. I scoff at her and throw a napkin at her.

“Thanks a lot. Well, you May, dear, look radiant.” I tell her because it is true. She is basically glowing. I turn toward Hailie, who is giggling away over there.

“And what’s so funny?” I ask her, faking anger.

“It’s just you look so much like Armstrong when you get miffed.” I giggle with her until her words once again make my head spin. She is not the first to comment on our similarities. I glance at May, and I know she is thinking what I am. Hailie is unaware of any of this, so she is busy eating, not realizing the air has changed.

We finish our lunch and promise to get together again soon. After two meetings, a tour guide training, and a nap later, I am walking up to my door, tired and hungry, contemplating food, when I hear a throat clear. Looking up, my face beams when the man of my dream, now a reality, stands at my door with pizza.

“Oh my gosh. How did you know?” I ask, opening the door.

“I remember you telling me how busy your day would be, so I figured you’d be tired and need sustenance so you're ready for our workout tonight.” When he winks at me, my panties melt right off. This man is quickly becoming my everything.

OWEN

FOUR DAYS LATER

Other than going to work, I haven’t left her bed. It’s where I belong, after all, beside her. Even though I told her we could take this as slowly as she needed to, she’s given me no indication that she even wants to take it slowly.

From the hardware store, I watch Main Street from the window. As always, I waited with June for the bus. Now, Mom comes into the store. She waves at the customers before she reaches the counter.

“Hello, my son,” she says, kissing me on the cheek.

“Hello, Mom. To what do owe the pleasure?”

“I came to invite you and June to dinner tonight at the house.”

“Alright. I’ll check with June and let you know.”

As soon as Mom leaves the store, I pull my phone from my pocket and text June.

Me: My mom invited us to dinner at their house tonight at 7. You game?

It takes several hours, but she finally responds.

June: Sounds fun. I’ll be there.

I don’t think anything of it, but I get worried when she doesn’t come home on the 6:30 bus. I text her again, but don’t receive an answer. Instead of freaking out like I want to, I head to dinner at my parent’s house, telling them June had to work late, but deep down, I know that’s not it.
