The meeting lasts maybe two hours, and when he walks me back to the waiting SUV, I turn to him. “I want to thank you for taking the time to meet with me.” He extends his hand again.
“Thank you”—I put my hand in his, shaking it—“for wanting to meet with me. I will get back to you soon.”
“I look forward to hearing from you.” He slaps my shoulder. “You look good,” he says, and I can’t help but smile.
“I feel good,” is the last thing I say before I get into the SUV, closing the door behind me. I finally let out the breath I must have been holding the whole time, the stress pouring out of my body. When I finally get control of my breathing, I pull out my phone as soon as we drive away, texting Miles.
Me:
Met with Bernie. Wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be. He has a great mindset.
I press send, and it takes him three seconds to reply.
I wouldn’t have set it up if I didn’t think you guys were a good fit. One down, two to go.
I laugh at that text, not having the time to respond to him before I look up and see we are pulling up to the hotel. I thank the driver before stopping to talk to the concierge. “How may I help you?” I smile at him and tell him of the plans I want to make.
When I open the door to the hotel suite, my whole body goes on alert for her. I look at the couch, seeing she isn’t there. “Hello,” I call, walking back to the bedroom. Stepping around the corner, I see her sitting in the middle of the bed with her laptop on her lap. Her eyes fly up to mine, and it takes me a minute to catch my breath. She is, without a shadow of a doubt, the most beautiful woman I’ve ever met, inside and out. Just the thought that she means so much to me makes my stomach go tight. What the actual fuck is going on? is the only thing my head is thinking. Is this really happening to me? My feet move to her as I sit on the bed beside her.
“Hi,” she greets me, moving her computer off her lap and turning to me. Her eyes light up, and I can’t wait to kiss her. I make the distance between us nonexistent when I pull her to me. My lips fall on hers, making all the questions that I’ve had answered.
I’ve gone and fallen in love with her.
She moves around me to straddle my lap. “I missed you,” she says to me, wrapping her arms around my neck as I wrap mine around her waist. She lays her head on my shoulder, burying her face in my neck as she gives me soft kisses.
“How much longer do you have to work?” I ask her softly.
“I’m done,” she states, and I turn to kiss her head.
“Good, because I have a surprise for you,” I tell her, and she moves her head out of my neck.
Her eyes widen. “Is it a big surprise?” She wiggles her eyebrows at me, and I can’t help but throw my head back and laugh. “Because after three rounds last night, I’ve already seen that surprise.”
“It’s not that,” I confirm, “but the car will be here in thirty minutes.” As soon as I say that, she jumps off my lap.
“What do I dress in?” She walks over to the walk-in closet. She gasps. “Oh my God, are we going to the sex club?”
I shake my head. “We are not.” I shrug off my jacket and toss it on the bed.
“It could be fun.” She turns and walks into the closet. I watch her in her little shorts and tank top, my cock thinking about how much fun it really would be.
“It could be,” I admit to her, pulling my shirt out of my pants and unbuttoning the buttons. I make my way into the closet with her. “But it’s still a no.”
“Buzzkill.” She smirks at me. “So we aren’t going to a sex club. What should I wear?” She turns to me.
“Anything,” I tell her, kicking off my dress shoes.
“What are you going to wear?” she asks, watching me unbuckle my Tom Ford belt, her eyes roaming down and then up to me again.
“I’m wearing jeans and a shirt,” I inform her as I walk over to my dark blue jeans. She grabs a pair of blue jeans and a top before turning and walking to the bathroom.
“I’m going to shower quickly,” she declares as I finish getting dressed. I slip on the white sneakers and go into the bathroom, spotting her coming out of the shower and wrapping herself with a towel. “How long do I have?”
