He nods as he unlocks the door, and I get into the car. I wait for him to get in and then look at me. “Are you sure you don’t want to go out with the boys?”

I shake my head. “I thought you wanted to see what I was wearing under this?” I look at him and see him struggle to swallow. “I mean, if you feel up to it.”

TWENTY-FOUR

ROMEO

I look over at her, not sure I heard what she just said because all the blood drained from my whole body straight to my dick. “Do you want to?” she asks with her back to the door.

I shake my head, the words all stuck in my throat. “I can describe it to you.” She smiles at me. “In detail.”

“Don’t,” I say through clenched teeth. “For the love of my cock, please, please don’t.” I close my eyes and look forward, gripping the steering wheel with both hands, holding it tighter than I’ve ever held it.

“This cock?” She smirks, reaching over and touching my cock, making me jump in my seat. The sound of honking makes me jump even more when I see her uncle honking at us to go.

“Oh my God,” I mutter, fumbling with starting the car. “Do you think he saw you touch my dick?” I ask, not looking at her. Even if I would look at her, all I would do is make it worse, plus she is laughing like crazy. “This isn’t funny,” I scold her through clenched teeth as I make my way out of the parking garage. “Did you not see them puff their chests out?”

“They do that to all the new ones,” she replies. I’m about to ask which new ones when the phone rings from my pocket.

Looking over at the console, I see it’s Kristina again. “Hello,” I answer, pressing the connect button.

“Hello?” she screeches. “Hello, is that all you can say?” I look over at Gabriella who looks at me with lust in her eyes. “When you say ‘I’m lying low for a couple of weeks,’ what that means, at least to me, is that you are not going to make my phone ring twenty-seven times in five minutes.”

Gabriella rolls her lips. “You took your girlfriend to a hockey game and decided this is a good place to suck face, and no one is going to know?”

I laugh. “Actually, she took me to the hockey game. I was her plus-one.”

“Ohhh, isn’t that romantic?” she snarls sarcastically. “This is getting out of hand.”

“Okay, put out a statement that we met through mutual friends and are getting to know each other.” I look at Gabriella, and she just nods in agreement.

“Getting to know each other?” Kristina again shrieks. “Getting to know each other. Did you not see the pictures?”

“I saw a couple,” I say, “in passing.”

“You look at her like she hangs the moon and the stars. It is written all over your face that you are in love with her,” Kristina explains, and my heart gets so full in my chest. I reach over and grab her hand, wanting to touch her, and bring it to my lips. “If I wasn’t so pissed, I would actually be happy for you.” I laugh.

“If it makes you feel any better, I’m sure no one will care about this in the morning,” I tell her, and she just groans.

“This is what you do. Put out a ‘we never comment on Romeo’s love life, but we will say that they are together.’” I look over again to make sure that I am not overstepping, and all she does is nod at me. “Now, I promise not to be caught with my pants down.”

“Promises, promises,” she retorts. “I’m blocking you from calling me.”

“You called me,” I remind her. “Have a nice night, Kristina.”

She grumbles out something before she hangs up, and I look over at Gabriella. “Are you sure you are okay with all of this?”

“Well…” She turns to look at me. “That all depends on you.”

“Really?” I ask. “And how is that?”

“I’ll tell you,” she says, folding her arms over her chest. “Today, I had the best day. I went out on a romantic date with this hot guy.” I laugh. “Then I overreacted, just a touch.” I tilt my head to the side. “Figured my shit out and then introduced him to my family.” She holds up her hand to stop me from talking. “Which, if you’ve met my family, isn’t an easy thing to do. Then after that, I saw a really nice picture of my boyfriend”—she emphasizes the word boyfriend—“making me smile. So after all of that, the only way I’ll be okay with any of this is if we go home and have sex.” I laugh at her. “I’m not kidding, Romeo. We’ve been on two dates. Three, if you count you cooking for me. Even Google says tonight is the night. When we weren’t dating, we had sex on the same night we met.” I pull into her driveway and put the truck in park. She looks around, then back to me. “What’s it going to be, Romeo?”
