“Thanks,” she says.
“Anytime. I wish you would’ve let me bring you over here.”
“I have to start getting around on my own sometime,” she replies.
“Yeah, but you weren’t doing the best job of it. Don’t be stubborn.”
“Ah, no one told you? That’s my middle name,” she teases.
“I can see that,” I say and grin. “So, do you want to talk?”
“About?”
I blow out a breath. “We both know what I want to talk about.”
“You know, if we’re going to date, you’re going to have to be a little more direct with me. I’m not a mind reader,” she says.
“Saga, I want to… wait. If we’re going to date?”
“I don’t think I stammered, Bishop,” she says with a sexy smile.
Grasping the back of her neck, I lean in and take her lips. She’s only hesitant for a few seconds before she opens for me and returns the kiss. I groan when she twirls her tongue around mine.
“I’m falling hard for you,” I say against her lips. “I’m honest and I’ll always tell you how I feel and you need to know now that I’m falling so fucking hard for you.”
“I might be in the same boat,” she says breathlessly.
“Might?”
“Yeah, might. Rule number one, never show a dude all your cards. His actions have to back his words. You have to earn my feelings,” she says.
“Babe, you haven’t said a thing. I’ll earn them all right.”
“You’re trouble.”
“The best kind.”
CHAPTER 16
Turn Things Up
Saga
“You need help with anything?” he asks as he enters the room.
He’s shirtless, with his jeans riding low on his hips. I have to keep myself from drooling. We’ve finally arrived in Atlanta and have settled into our suite. I can’t wait to sit in the bathtub and relax.
That was my plan before Bishop walked in here, distracting me from a single clear thought. I sit on the edge of the bed, staring at him, trying to process his question. He gives me a sexy smile and leans over me to kiss me.
Absolutely not helping the situation. His lips are so soft but firm. I love the way he dominates a kiss with no apologies or questions. He kisses me as if he knows I belong to him and always will.
“What did you say?” I breathe when he breaks the kiss.
He chuckles and kisses my forehead. “Do you need anything in here? I ordered room service so you don’t have to try to walk around anywhere.”
“Oh, no. I was just going to take a bath,” I say.
“I sent Joey for a few things. I’ll run that bath for you after we eat. He should be back by then,” he says.
“You have a one-track mind. I don’t know how you can eat so much,” I laugh.
“I’m a lot of man. I need the energy,” he says and winks. He scoops me up in his arms and starts for the living room of the suite.
Sitting on the couch, he places me in his lap. He lifts a hand to brush my hair out of my face. I turn to nuzzle his palm.
He groans. “I’m trying my best to take things slow. You keep doing shit like that, slow is going to go out of the window.”
“I’ll keep that in mind,” I say with a saucy smile.
He shakes his head. “You’re something else. We get a few days off before and after the next two shows. I know you need to take a day or two for your ankle, but maybe we can go on a few dates after we wrap.”
The hopeful look in his blue eyes pulls me in. I lean in and kiss his lips, not able to help myself. Reaching for the tie holding his hair up, I release it and watch his locks spill down around his shoulders.
“I’m down for whatever,” I say. “I’m in good company. I’m not complaining.”
“I love how easy being with you is. You’re like the quiet to my storm. I feel like I need to thank you for that… lay the world at your feet and worship every moment I get to hold you in my arms,” he says while staring into my eyes.
My breath whooshes from my lips. The man has a way with words. I feel my heart giving itself away without so much as a bit of my permission.
“I have nothing for that,” I chuckle. I cup his handsome face. “I hope you turn out to be everything I think you are.”
“I’ll be anything you want me to be,” he says before leaning in and capturing my lips.
He drops his hands to my waist and grasps a tight hold. I whimper into his mouth as he deepens the kiss, then run my hands down his bare chest, savoring the warmth and smoothness of his skin.
Just when he pushes up my T-shirt to touch my bare skin, there’s a knock at the door. He growls in frustration before placing me gently on the couch and going to answer the door. I palm my face and exhale.
