“Good morning, gorgeous,” he whispers.
Who knew that just waking up in the morning could feel so damn good?
His mouth lowers to mine for long, lazy kisses as his fingertips journey over my skin to my breast, and he gently teases my nipple into a firm point.
There’s no urgency in him this morning, nothing quick or fast in his movements. Instead, as the rain falls around us on this gray day, Wolfe takes his time.
And when he finally pushes into me, links our fingers, and presses our joined hands against the mattress near my head as he moves in long, languid strokes, he keeps his gaze locked on mine.
“I can’t get enough of you,” he murmurs against my lips. “It’s never enough.”
“I’m right here,” I assure him and raise my legs high on his hips, inviting him to come even deeper. He fills me so completely it always takes my breath away. His body, so tight and firm with muscles for days, is a wonderland for my fingers, and when I grip firmly onto his ass, he groans.
What started as lazy and sleepy turns greedy in the blink of an eye. His mouth no longer tickles mine, but rather, he claims it as if he’s making sure that I understand, without words, that I’m his.
It’s the most intoxicating aphrodisiac there is.
And when he whispers my name, everything in me contracts, and the Earth falls away as we tumble into the bliss we made.
He rolls to the side so he doesn’t crush me, and I sigh in contentment. “Coffee.”
He snorts and pushes out of bed, then pads into the bathroom. A few moments later, with gray sweatpants hanging low on his hips, he emerges with that cocky grin that I love so much.
“I’m going to fetch your coffee, Your Royal Highness,” he says and reaches for a T-shirt.
“Maybe don’t put the shirt on,” I suggest as I prop my head on my hand and watch him as I lie on my side.
“Why?”
“Because the view is damn good without it,” I reply. “You know what they say about men in gray sweatpants.”
He blinks. “No. What do they say?”
I grin and then fall back onto the pillow. “Let’s just say it’s a really nice sight. Like, really good.”
“Women are weird,” he mutters as he pads out of the room toward the kitchen.
While he’s occupied, I handle my business in the bathroom and then pull on some black yoga pants and a sports bra with a cozy sweatshirt.
With as nasty as it is outside, today is all about comfort.
I reach for my phone and smile when I see messages from Cordelia, confirming our appointment for tomorrow morning when I plan to accept their offer to buy the kitchen portion of the B&B.
“Coffee,” Wolfe announces as he returns to the bedroom, carrying two mugs and a brown paper bag under one arm. “And fresh marionberry scones from Three Sisters.”
“How did you manage that?”
He smiles proudly as he passes me my mug and then sits next to me on the bed. “I have connections in this town, sweetheart.”
“Oh, is that right?” I laugh and peek inside the bag, then grin when the smell hits me. “And they’re still warm from the oven.”
“Good connections,” he adds. “It’s nasty out there.”
“I know. That’s the Oregon coast for you. Mostly rainy and moody with moments of sunshine mixed in just enough to make you want to stay.”
“There are a few reasons to stay,” he says thoughtfully.
“Besides the stunning views?”
“Sure.” He pops a bite of a scone into his mouth. “There’s a fun Halloween party every year.”
“True.”
“And I own a business here.”
“There is that.”
He leans over to kiss my temple. “And the most amazing person I’ve ever met in my life is here.”
“Really? Who’s that?”
He grins and sips his coffee. “This girl I know. Best sex I’ve ever had, too.”
“Well, that’s definitely worth sticking around for,” I agree and happily munch on my scone.
“I think we should build a house.”
I choke and have to set my coffee aside so I don’t spill. “What?”
“A house. You know, for us to live in.”
I look around the room and back to Wolfe. “I thought we were living in a house already.”
“We are. Hear me out, okay? I think we should choose a spot on the property and build a new house for the two of us. You could incorporate this house into the business. People would pay a lot of money to bring their family to stay in a lighthouse, not to mention, you could use it for events. And in the process, we could join our two properties together.”
I’d actually thought the same thing in the past, that guests would probably love an opportunity to rent out the entire house.
“But I already have so much on my plate, Wolfe. We’re finally moving forward on the B&B now that they repaired the roof and can get on with things, and it’s just a lot. Let’s table this conversation for now.”
